Look at me!! Making a Debate topic that isn't going to leave to people throwing punches!! Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!! :p

    No seriously.

I was having a debate with my mom last night about the Olympics and she was going on and on about how the Summer Olympics were the best. The games are action packed and high drama. I of course looked at her like she was smoking crack and said that Winter Olympics were the best. Drama, Action, High Risk, Apollo Ono, Figure Skating, EVERYTHING.

So we got into an argument over this and she stopped talking to me for an hour over this. LOL Seriously, she was that upset with me.

SO, I bring it to you guys. Winter or Summer? Which are you? Which is better?

Summer. I swam competitively from the age of 9-18 and played water polo for 5 years. I am a complete and utter water baby and so the summer Olympics will always have a special place in my heart.

I'm not going to be any good in this debate I equally love Figure skating and Gymnastics.....that's pretty much it and I haven't even watched any of the Olympics this year....or the last time either. I'll probably find them uploaded somewhere and just fast forward to the parts I like. -.-

While I do love summer sports, I love winter sports more. There's so much more to watch - skiing, figure skating, ice hockey, luge, bobsled, and curling! Yes, I'm crazy. I know.

I would say Summer, because all the good-looking athletes aren't covered up, but Winter sports are cooler.

The biathlon is probably the closest thing the world has to awesome incarnate.

    Winter! :D
Mainly because I like looking at snow. What? Not good enough? I just think they have more interesting disciplines also summer olympics are so full of random stuff. But yeah, the main reason might very well be that I really love snow and it makes me happy. I'm really not that much into sports or the strange kind of competitive patriotism that comes with it.

Summer because I get to ogle all the men whilst they do rowing (dem arms!) and swimming (swimmer's bodies are the best) and gymnastics (I mean have you SEEN guys who do gymnastics. Those muscles!) and the 2973947 sports where a little skin is bared.

I watch figure skating as religiously as I watch gymnastics. Probably more, because they're not dickwads and actually have one person perform after the other not at the same time so people can't watch everything, and then switch to talk (talk, not watch) about some events where some people got Gold just because Britain happens to be completely deplorable when it comes to women's gymnastics. No, I'm not holding a grudge at all...

Aside from that... I like the Summer Olympics more. Swimming, Rowing, Sailing, Judo, Athletics. 'Nuff said.

Although to be fair we've done the best in gymnastics that we've done in a WHILE. Although I really felt for the girl that fell on the vault that was awful. But seriously, Britain's just happy to be in the final when it comes to both men and women's gymnastics and I THINK THE BRITISH COMMENTATORS MADE THAT PRETTY CLEAR IDK?

Also the fact that the men took bronze in the gymnastics team is like... yeah. Britain is generally NOT GREAT at gymnastics SO THAT'S A BIG DEAL.

Oh, I know. But then I was watching Men's Individual All-Rounders and they switched to tell us THE THIRD TIME that Wiggins won a gold in Cycling and I was like: SERIOUSLY. I don't give a crap about something I already knew. I don't want to know what school the guy learned how to read in. Just because it was clear the Japanese were going to kick butt and none of the UK men were going to get on the podium didn't mean I didn't want to watch it. If they'd interrupted it for us to watch... an event with UK favourites, sure. But they literally showed me waffle.

Oh, and then they had the bloody nads to talk about how the Olympic park was an awesome place to watch stuff in and how the BBC were covering things and they were showing us a crowd of people watching Uchimura do one of his elements live, when we couldn't see it. If there was ever a time for killing cute and cuddly things...

Oh idk about that. I watched the men's gymnastics individuals all the way through on BBC sports so. I didn't really have to deal with BBC1/BBC2/BBC3/BBC WHATEVER switching shit around lol.

Can I be an arse and say both? :p

I actually pay a little more attention to the Winter Olympics, but I also am slightly biased towards the Summer Olympics because I used to do a lot of those sports, such as gymnastics and track and field, when I was a sporty child. But I'm not really watching it, even though I'm cheering for four countries.

I'm sort of with @Jareth. :) I can't really pick, because I love the Winter Olympics but the summer games have tennis and equestrian and athletics which are the sports I've played so I actually understand what's going on. But some of the events just don't appeal to me. Basically, summer olympics = super excited about half of the events, apathetic about the other half and winter = moderate excitement about all events so they even out. ;)

The reason I love the Summer Olympics more is because it has the only reasons I watch the Olympics, Basketball and Decathlon. For the 3 Olympics I actually remember, two summer and one winter, I've never really liked the one at a time pace of the winter events but love the fact that the majority of the summer events are heated competition where it's a battle with your opponent, not where you go then they go then the next person goes and you hope none of them are better than you. Of course though, I'm biased, I've always played non-stop battle sports.

Summer Olympics by far, the entire reason would be the fact tat they have Gymnastics, and that is the one sport I follow the training on and the athletes involved all year round.
