For the love of everything holy in the RPG world, when you decide that your board is not going to make it any longer please do this one simple task: LET PEOPLE KNOW! One of my biggest pet peeves about RPG's today is that there are so many boards out there with staff that have refused to close the site down officially. Even though all the members have long since stopped posting, they either refuse to let the place die without actually doing anything about it, or they continuously host counter arguments to the multiple guest claims of "this place is dead" in the chat box. Which brings up another point of mine, if there is no giant, public announcement or you haven't turned the board offline, how am I to know the difference between your site being dead or your site having unnaturally slow activity? I don't understand why admins see fit to not display a "hi, the board died, sorry." message in the very least (also it cracks me up when they viciously attack guests in the chat box when they ask or claim anything about the lack of activity "well obviously the site is dead, stop trolling!"). I am tired of seeing an interesting site only to spend a large amount of time looking through threads to find out if the place is actually dead or not - especially if it is on a Topsites list, where most of them turn out to be dead already but still are getting votes like no other and therefore make me think they are actually active >.< It's common courtesy really, just let us know one way or another if the site's dead or not.
