Is it bad that I laughed at all those, poor poor sweater.
I've just recently begin putting into motion the death of the character I've come most to love. Well since I play on a Bleach rpg this will technically be the second time she died. The first time I killed her, it ended very poorly for her and a lot of the other members asked me to bring her back for a little bit in the form of a Shinigami. Now that her plot is finally come to an end I'll be able to put her to rest. It'll be a bit of an emotional ordeal. She'll end up getting herself killed right after the man she loves dies trying to protect her. This was really hard for me to settle on. In the end I decided that since the bad guy they were fighting is supposed to be all powerful, having her die right after him just sends the correct message.
Not at all. I was laughing the entire time.
Gun wound in a prison breakout D:
I've wanted to kill off three characters in particular. Although to be honest, one was destined to die anyway.
The first two simply grew tiresome for me, so I chose to dispose of them instead of merely putting them in the cooler, so to speak. I hate having characters that are "idle."
The first was a female character whom I had die of the plague, I believe it was (not the Bubonic Plague, but a site-created one that infected quite a few people, NPCs and characters alike). She had grown boring for me and I never put much stock in her anyway, so off she went.
The second I had die in a huge catastrophe. I think it was a fire, but it might have been a building collapse (pretty gruesome). I liked her more than the last, so it was a more difficult choice. But the thing was that her death helped other characters to grow, so I was happy to have done it in the end. And getting rid of her freed me up a LOT.
And the third was a character destined to be murdered by his brother, so it wasn't a huge choice for me. I knew what I was getting into. And he was a real bastard, so his death was pretty fun to play out.
Darn it, I killed of quite a few characters now that I think of it.
Most of the time I'm the one help help other... comes with the job, playing assassins or just the random fighter who's respect in life is quite lacking...
mmh, but what did I do to my own characters?
Suicide was my first charcter death (One of my first characters and it wasn't a very creative way of getting rid of an unwandter character)
Another time a board was closing and we wanted to kill all characters instead of just saying 'the end' - so we burned them in some grande catastrophic desaster
Next one was my beloved Nungha, who fought to death to defend her packmates (this was the end of one generation and the beginning of another - pretty depressing, but well time doesn't even stop inplay )
A politician was poisoned, a hunter underestimated his prey and was ripped to pieces and a traitor was executed by his brotherhood
I remember those six quite well, but I'm not sure about the rest, but I guess I had gory deaths as well as those overly emotional or heroic endings ^^
I've actually only killed off one character in all my years of online RP. I had a vampire who was extremely insane and he hated being a vampire because he couldn't bring himself to hurt anyone even if he was only taking a small bit of their blood. So one day, he decided to end it all and he hopped onto his motorcycle and rode out into the rising sun; it was epic.
Only time I killed off a character was two years back actually. I had her walk to the edge of a roof and jump off, was quite dramatic and all but no one really liked her anyway LOL
Only one I can remember died of a heart attack ... so I listed that as a disease, I guess?
murder, suicide, poisoning, depression, old age (somehow.....but generally this deals with characters that naturally age faster than human), dsease, fire (only from my pyro girl, she burned herself to death by accident), explosions
We are about to have a very not foreseen character death on Aranduin...I think the funnest part? No one is gonna know who did it..Assassination, ftw.
I'm going to kill off a character soon, murder! But... generally speaking, I don't just kill characters because I'm bored of them? That's actually kind of bad roleplaying imo, if you feel like you just have to get rid of a character you hate by killing it, at least try to help someone else get plots from it.
This. A thousand times this.
I've had characters die of:
- head trauma
- pushed down the stairs
- suicide (to save her husband from being accused of what she has done)
One got accidentally caught in a massive fire, another committed suicide by jumping off a cliff, another was murdered by her brother and fellow townsfolk, another died in childbirth, and another was executed by stoning. >.>
Hahahah oh man. I have had so many characters die. That happens when you run something like Battle Royale though...
- Stabbed through the eye (with a syringe).
- Seppuku (which was a really stupid idea retrospectively, but oh well)
- Slashed to death with a claymore, defending his girlfriend in what was actually a misunderstanding.
- Shot - in so many different ways, lol. I think I've had about five different characters be shot dead.
- One character shot himself.
- I had one guy deliberately pull his own collar off as a 'screw you' to the game. (like, a metal collar. They explode when you do that)
- I had a character get practically disembowelled, right in front of her boyfriend.
- One guy jumped off a railway bridge.
- I had a character who got abandoned to zombies (he got caught hold of as he tried to climb a fire escape ladder, and his partner wouldn't help him up)
- A character was basically bound up with duct tape, and had a sniper rifle tied to his chest, pointing at his head. He basically decided that it was better to go out struggling than just let his captor play games with him, and he almost tore his way out, only to pull the trigger in doing so.
- For something completely different... on a DBZ RP, my character basically hurled himself at one of those 'planet destroying' type of moves, giving everything he had to dissipate it, but dying in the process.
My favourite three deaths are probably the following:
Tyler Blake, in a very dystopian setting, had had his faith in the American government shattered after somebody tried to kill him and he accidentally killed them in self-defence. In any case, this prompted him to climb up on top of a building and start up a massive rant against the American government, fully aware that he was being watched. He stayed there and kept talking until an army helicopter flew up and a sniper took him out. Really fun to write.
Billy-Jay Clarke was amongst the first characters rolled in an AU game that was basically 'Battle Royale with lame superpowers'. Being that the situation wasn't exactly conducive to getting him killed off, since he was only with one other student who was completely non-hostile, I hatched a plan. See, Billy-Jay's 'superpower' was Ocular Luminescence, which basically meant that in the dark, his eyes lit up like torches. I had the idea that this was solarpowered, and he gradually 'stored' that energy as he spent time in the sun. Only, because the powers sucked, this had no kind of balance check on the limits of this storage. Long story short, it overflowed, and the result was that Billy-Jay's eyes melted. ... Yeah. Certainly the most gruesome thing I've written.
Kris... probably my favourite because it had such a big storyline behind it. Basically this is a character who more or less lost her mind thanks to the fear and stress of being involved in a battle royale game. Early on the first day, she tried to fire a warning shot past somebody and accidentally hit them, which led to the girl being more or less crippled for most of the game thanks to being hit in the shoulder. Kris in the mean time got hold of a couple of weapons and tore her way across the island, racking up quite a few kills, steadily breaking down more and more both mentally and physically. Eventually, she ran into the girl she'd shot again (Kimberly), and they had a face-off of sorts. Kimberly managed to get the drop on Kris and stab her fatally, then went on to win the game. It's something I had a lot of fun writing owing to the fact that it was such a good and enduring character arc.
Yeah uh, lots of deaths for me.
A character of mine became so depressed that one they, they broke down mentally and stopped eating. In truth, I haven't had many characters die.
The one other notable death for me was a crazed undead sorceress whose body was melted when a person haphazardly flung a spell toward them! They died... but, well, came back some time later in the game.
I get too attached with my characters. D:
I have only ever killed one character, my sweet little guardian of snow was brutally murdered by a vicious and vengeful demon. She died a horribly painful death....poor thing. It still saddens me to to read that thread
Suicide seems to be the most frequent for my characters.
Being killed is too easy, having them sink into a depression far enough for the characters to off themselves is really tragic.
I figure you might as well go all the way if you're going for a depressingly hopeless death.
-Ran through with a scythe
-Well placed knife wound
-Gutted with a sword
-Fell off a cliff
-Sacrificed self for another person
Some of those deaths happened to multiple characters. And I know I'm missing some, but that's off the top of my head.
PS: Sorry, I didn't see the STD option. I used disease for it... Oops.
