Site info: Dust in the Wind is something of a unique Marvel site in that while it is based in the movie-verse, it accepts any Marvel canons who can then adjust their timeline, history, and future plotting to work in this alternate universe. The timeline is presently set two months following the events of the Avengers movie. Loki and the Chitauri have been defeated, the newly dubbed Avengers Tower has been repaired, and New York is getting back on its feet, but all is not well. Loki has escaped custody in Asgard with the help of the Enchantress and is lurking about the city, collecting information and plotting his revenge on the Avengers and all those they hold dear.

Kate Bishop grew up the spoiled younger daughter of an obscenely wealthy Manhattan family. While certainly doted on by them, she is not particularly close to her parents, especially with her father such an emotionally distant workaholic. Despite wanting for nothing, Kate didn't purely let it go to her head. What she had were resources to help her get what she wanted, not to do it for her. Fiercely independent and compassionate, Kate is aware of how her family's lavish spending could be put to better use, funding charities, combating disease, starvation, and crime across the globe, instead of buying pretty dresses.

A few months before her sister's wedding (timeframe negotiable by player), she was sexually assaulted while walking through Central Park. Initially traumatized and isolated by the event, Kate eventually drew herself up and used the event as motivation to find a new strength. She took up several styles of self-defense including martial arts and swordsmanship in addition to her previous archery training, promising herself to never let it happen again. Her tenacity coupled with her resourceful nature has seen her thrive in these lessons, and therapy has helped her to close the skeletons in the closet and move forward with her life, at least most of the time.

One way or another, she has taken (or will soon take) to hero work, either because she decided on her own to put her skills to use (to defend others, or perhaps exact revenge on her attacker), or because she will soon be seeing some of the other Young Avengers in action and get inspired to join up. We currently have a Wiccan and a Hulkling forming the group and would love to get Kate's influence in here as soon as possible.

Other notes?: There may be a bit of confusion in registering with Kate's codename, since in this 'verse Clint Barton is still Hawkeye, and Kate goes through so many nicknames. I would recommend either registering as "Hawkeye II" or just "Kate Bishop" and sorting it out with the admin after. (It won't be any trouble. She's super friendly.) Would be glad to discuss any potential concerns and plots with prospective rpers. A lot is absolutely up for interpretation and discussion, and no events following this in Kate's timeline have to happen if the rper wishes to take her in another direction (that includes ships, fatalities, etc.)
