So I'm making a mancave sign as a present for my dad. We're going to transfer the design to plexiglass, color with stainglass paint and put it in a box with a light under it so it will have a light up sign effect. Cool beans. I'm having trouble with the overall design. I picked out a font and my dad found a graphic he really like, but I'm just struggling for a good sign look and all the empty space.

Here's what I got so far. Help?

I like it though I think the font is a little bit off in a way. Maybe use this font http://www.dafont.com/viking.font but make it a (if you use photoshop) 0% fill with a 5 pix outline or something like that - Also, the helmet needs to be covered over fully, still see some text there

I would make the text MUCH bigger, maybe overlap them a bit, get the letters closer together, and maybe placing the viking over it a bit, just to make it all look like one picture.

I'd put his name over the text "Bob's Mancave" for getting that male ownership thing going.

I really like it alot. I think I agree with @FelixTheCat -- adding his name might be cool. That or sticking BEWARE or KEEP OUT above it.

But otherwise I think it looks really good.

I think @FelixTheCat's suggestion of using his name in the text would be great. And maybe placing the image above the text or vice versa instead of the two next to each other?

I like it but it seems slightly faded, if you are still working on this I would definitely suggest adding his name to it as was already stated, and possibly making the colors stand out more perhaps by darkening them up a bit or adding a touch of a contrast layering to it to make it really pop.

As it is it is nicely coordinated and the font while something you seemed worried over fits in with it in a good way. It does look like you put Bob's on the helmet at one point too and then faded it out, when I open it full size and view it, not sure if that was intentional or not on how faded if you're going to place it there definitely say make it pop and use a bright color then maybe do an inner shadow and an overlay of sorts to make it look chiseled on the helmet.
