Personality:

I'm generally pretty shy at first. It takes me awhile to open up to people, so I might come off as closed off, or disinterested, but that's really not the case. I'm just slow to share a lot about myself, or my problems, and so on. But once I get to know a person, I can be friendly, a bit sarcastic at times, and fond of sharing funny links and the like.

About Me:

I'm in grad school, trying to finish up, although I'm not sure if it'll be August or December at this point for graduation. I live in Colorado, and occasionally have really odd hours. With an internship in my near future, it's likely I'll be in bed by no later than 11pm my time. So, as you can see, my schedule is really all over the place right now. Chances are it will remain so until I move, or figure out when the school will allow me to graduate. RP'ing is something I do for fun, and in my free time, so I'm not looking to make this a daily chore I have to do. I'm looking for it to be something that eases the amount of stress I'm currently working under. I have cats, I'm close with my family, pretty liberal, and an unabashed bookworm. I also watch telenovelas, Asian dramas, and Netflix pretty regularly. You can probably ask me about myself if you have any other questions.

Do you like to use messengers?

Yes and no. I use them to chat when I'm able to, but I don't like being dependent on them as the only way to contact me due to my schedule. If you're the sort of person that needs daily chats, we won't work. I'm only able to get on once or twice a week, so I would rather you be okay with the PM system on a forum. I definitely don't RP via messenger, though.

How long have you been roleplaying? About 8 years, I think.

What boards have you played on in the past?

A variety. I'm not sure how many people would recognize them as it has been awhile since they've been open.

ABOUT ROLEPLAYING

How often do you generally post?:

I try to post once a week with all my characters. But I'm also trying to finish up grad school, which means an internship, a big paper, and an eventual presentation in front of the university. At best, once a week is all I can promise. If I'm really procrastinating I can maybe do more, of if I have more time, I can try to be a little faster -- but right now, I cannot promise daily posts, or anything like that. Not until life has settled and I'm in a routine that doesn't result in my having MacGyver marathons because I'm stressed beyond all reason.

How much do you generally post?

Usually around 600+. I'm a wordy person when it comes to writing, so I tend to include a lot in my posts. On really bad days, or when I have nothing to go off of, I can only muster about 500 words, but overall, I write a lot.

Do you like to write in 1st person or 3rd person?

3rd. I only do 1st for letters, notes, or journal entries when it comes to RP.

Who are your favorite PB's? It would just be easier to read them here.

What PB's do you hate?

Most fashion models. I'm sorry, but the lack of smiles, the overly airbrushed images, and the lack of clothing drives me insane.

What type of characters do you like to play?

All kinds? I play both males and females, and they range in personalities, ages, and backgrounds.

What are your favorite genres?

Sailor Moon, X-Men, Fairy Tales (10th Kingdom based), Grease, Inuyasha, Fruits Basket, Final Fantasy, Harry Potter.

What genres do you hate?

Not a big fan of Twilight, Supernatural, vampire/werewolf, Glee, Gossip Girl, etc.

What rating of a board do you like to play on?

So long as I'm able to curse (some of my characters can be real sailors), I don't really mind.

How do you feel about writing out graphic scenes such as violence, drug use, and sex?

I will not write out sex scenes. I'm not interested in smut, or anything like that. I'm a fan of character development, and insinuation -- I don't feel the need to write out every nitty gritty detail between two characters sexually. As for violence and drug use, I can probably write them out if the scene called for it.

What type of plots do you like?

I’m pretty open to a variety of plots. Rivalries, family relationships, friendships, love-hate, slow-building romance, forbidden whatever, etc.

What type of plots do you dislike?

Instant romance, or anything that seems forced despite there being no character chemistry. I'm also not a huge fan of the usual canon or pic-ships -- I can do very, very few of those, but I much prefer AU and crackships. I also do not believe in finals.

What are some plots that you'd like to play out with someone?

I have a few ideas, but I figure we can sort that out when we chat, since I would assume the other person would have ideas, too. I don't want to dictate everything since I see RP partners as being actual partners, so we'd work together to decide what works best for us, or seems the most worthwhile to plot out.

Are you willing to join a new board with someone?

Within reason, yes. I'm not likely to join a rapid-fire site, nor one that has requirements that you post every week, or log in every day. A relaxed board, or even a private one would be more preferable at this time.

Are you interested in creating a new board with someone?

Perhaps. I have a few I'd like to do up in the future, but if you have ideas about sites, I'm open to hearing them.

POST ONE

What is going on in this scene? Justin and Rose doing Prefect rounds.

Justin wasn't sure whether to feel relieved, or worried, about what Rose had been up to. On the one hand, Justin didn't have to play hero because Rose wasn't in any danger. But, on the other hand... Justin simply hadn't been expecting anything like this. Rose had always been an upstanding model student -- not that this really made her a bad student. Justin just hadn't expected her to be involved in anything to do with... well, whatever Renna did in her spare time. The girls were direct opposites. He had always found it more than a little strange that they were even friends in the first place. He wasn't sure what Rose saw in Renna. Frankly, Renna scared the crap out of him. There was something about her that he simply didn't understand, and what he couldn't always understand, Justin had a hard time trusting. It was like proof -- he needed it to be absolutely sure about stuff. But with Renna, she was just all over the place. So it didn't make any sense that Rose thought she was a good friend to have. She didn't even seem Rose's type.

But it wasn't Justin's place to nitpick about Rose's friends. He could probably envy her the ability to see past the obvious with people, but he would probably never get to that point. Justin just wasn't as brave as other people. He didn't like being pushed and prodded about certain things, so any type of confrontation wasn't up his alley. That was why he stuck to people he knew to be easy to get along with. Sometimes it was just easier that way. Maybe it reflected badly on him, or showed just how stuck in his ways he was... or just how lame he was. It was times like these that Justin wondered why he had been sorted into Gryffindor in the first place. The only thing he could consider a trait of Gryffindor was his intent to see things through to the very end. Justin didn't just give up -- he kept plodding forward, which he was pretty sure he got from his father.

Rubbing his forehead, Justin tried to process the information he had just received. It was an awful lot to get in a short amount of time -- and the fact that all those words bubbling out at him were from Rose made it even harder to understand. This was a whole new side to her that he'd never witnessed before. Justin wasn't sure what to think at the moment. Was this a new, permanent aspect? Or was this a part of her he'd simply never noticed before? He certainly hoped that she wasn't changing, and that he'd miss his chance to tell her how he felt. Of course, it might help if he'd just get up the never to tell her he liked her -- before Alina did it for him. That would be the absolute worst thing to happen to him.

"Wait, wait... let me see if I can get this straight. So you and Renna are working on an assignment... with swords and wands? To write a paper... so you practice at odd hours in the night." Alright, he was following this thus far. The latter bit sounded a lot like something Renna would do. She certainly seemed the impulsive type. And he could see Rose being eager about a new assignment, getting caught up in a theory or some sort. So perhaps this was normal for both girls after all. But so late at night? That was a little harder for Justin to swallow. With all the dangers abounding throughout the castle right now, it simply wasn't wise to be running around so late unless one was supposed to be running around -- like a prefect. And since he had assumed Rose had been doing that, he was surprised by the bundle of information he had just gotten.

"I'm not really upset... just concerned. Wandering around at this time of night, with everything that's going on? I'd be more worried if something happened to you somewhere and I didn't know about it." Perhaps he was just a tiny bit upset that Rose had simply gone off to practice her theory rather than stay on duty, but was it really his place to be upset? What was Justin supposed to even do in a case like this? Was he supposed to take points away from Renna? And Rose... even though she was supposed to be on duty right now? This was turning out to be a lot more complicated than it should be. "I know you seem alright now... Couldn't Renna have just written it down to do in the daylight? At least then we wouldn't be put in positions where we're ignoring the rules and not taking points away from people just because they're our friends, or because we're involved."

POST TWO

What is going on in this scene? Nick sat down at the wrong table in the Great Hall.

Nick glanced up at the sound of his name, glad someone knew him. The person he had posed his question to didn't seem to be very forthcoming. They just stared at him as though he was odd, which he was -- he just didn't think that was anything new. The person that new him turned out to be Mallory, which Nick took to mean he was seated at the Ravenclaw table. Oh, well, at least his question was answered. He wasn't sure if it was a good or bad thing he had accidentally taken a seat there. Overall, Nick assumed Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws were on good terms -- they certainly weren't at each other's throats like Gryffindor and Slytherin always were. But, on the other hand, wasn't he supposed to show some sort of loyalty to Selene over that whole thing with Mallory and whats-his-face? Nick had been keeping out of it thus far, but Selene could be scary when she wanted -- like when she was going off a sugar rush, or seething about Mallory and whats-his-face. Well, Nick could only assume the latter was true. A younger student had sworn she had breathed fire, but Nick hadn't exactly witnessed it himself.

"Er, hello," he answered, sounding more than a little puzzled by his mistake. The fact that he had sat down at the wrong table in the first place couldn't possibly be a good sign. He was probably in need of a break -- like a vacation! Yes, a vacation would do him wonders. But when was Nick going to get one? If he was hoping to start studying to be an Auror, he didn't think that would allow a vacation after school ended. But that was assuming Nick would be eligible to study to be an Auror. He was too afraid to ask about the state of his grades, and right now, he assumed he was doing well enough that no one was worried about his failing. No professors had pulled him aside to talk about assignments or grades, so that had to mean that Nick was doing pretty well, right? He certainly hoped that was the case. He didn't know what he would do if he found out his plans had gotten screwed up while he wasn't paying attention. Would that reflect badly on him when he started his career studies? Maybe it was better not to think of it this early in the morning...

"Yes, actually. I don't really want to fail any this year -- I'm trying to do better in my studies." He didn't offer up an explanation why. He figured he wasn't the only Seventh Year trying to do well to graduate with a bang, and not with a small pop. It would be nice to be able to look back on this year and admire how much he had gotten done, or how well he had gotten it done... Or something like that. Nick would really just be glad to be done with the damn school thing. He was ready to start the next phase of his life, even if he didn't really know what phase that would be. He only had one plan at the moment, and that required his getting into Auror training so he could be an Auror. He knew he ought to have some sort of backup plan ready, but Nick simply couldn't come up with anything else that motivated him like being an Auror did. That was his only goal in life right now -- surely he could reach it if he really applied himself in his final year at Hogwarts.

Nick laughed weakly along with Mallory's joke, unsure how that was even funny. Just because most Ravenclaws were capable of studying without having to cram didn't mean it was funny when most students waited until the last moment to try and learn everything they didn't understand. He knew that not all Ravenclaws were like that, but most of them were able to study, retain the information, and not stress. Or maybe that was just Nick that studied, still managed to forget everything, and then stressed over everything whenever he managed to stress at all. He almost missed the days when he hadn't cared about an exam or essay -- waiting until his final year in school to do all of that simply couldn't be good for his health. "You don't look particularly worried about upcoming exams. I take it you're not concerned about passing or failing? Or you just have a good memory. Know of any tricks to retain things for exams?" Since he was at the Ravenclaw table, Nick might as well try and get some of the tricks they had for future use. It might come in handy for the next few weeks he had left...

POST THREE

What is going on in this scene? Rei having a run-in with her father, whom she doesn't always get along with.

"It isn't servant's work," argued Rei stubbornly. "It's called responsibility. Momo belongs to me, and as his owner and protector, it's my job to do all the work required of taking care of him -- not pass him off to hired help. You do that with the things that don't matter." The teen was dangerously close to pointing out that her father had done just that with her, and that she probably hadn't turned out all that well as a result -- but as fiery as Rei could be, she wasn't stupid. Her father still had a power over her that incited fear and awe. She managed to bite down on her tongue to avoid saying too much, but she was sure the implication was there. Of course, that would be if he would take it as such. For all she knew, her father probably couldn't see the similarity between the two situations, and that would be for the best. Being grounded, or reprimanded in a public setting, weren't necessarily what Rei had in mind for the day.

She did, however, try to amend her words a bit. Her father was probably the only person she would do this for, and it was hard to say if it was because she honestly feared him, or because she didn't want him to completely hate her -- which shouldn't matter to her, but did. "Hired help isn't always going to be around when I need it, anyway. When I go off to whatever university I choose, I'll be on my own. You can't expect me to depend on you and the household help for the rest of my life. At some point I have to do things for myself, and it would be pointless to move out without knowing how to properly care for my own dog." She wanted to snap that it was his fault she was doing even that -- he had gotten her the puppy. Any other parent would probably have done so to get a child on the cusp of adulthood to learn how to take care of themselves, as well as others, in preparation for living on their own. But with her father, Rei honestly didn't know why he had gotten her a puppy. She assumed it had been out of pity, or to lessen the blow about Ms. Mizuno... Yet none of that really mattered. She was fond of Momo now, and she would be damned if she just passed him off like he didn't matter to her.

Rei tensed as she sensed the warning in her father's voice as he chided her. She should have known such words were coming. Hadn't she practically asked for it by being out of line with him? Letting her temper get the best of her wasn't in Rei's best interest, and yet she was finding it harder and harder to try and be good in his presence. Everything was changing around her -- rapidly, too. Her father was remarrying, reaching out to be a father to another girl, and Rei wasn't sure where her place was. She had never been entirely sure where her place was when it came to her father. If he wanted to be a good father to another girl, what did that mean for her? He hadn't exactly been there for her in the typical fatherly sense the last several years, and she didn't have her mother to turn to about the whole thing. Rei had no one but herself, and Momo. She couldn't confide in Frank, because he seemed content to remain on her father's good side, and would probably find a reason to tell Rei she was simply letting her imagination get the best of her. It was hard to know where she stood with Takashi Hino, and harder still to understand where she wanted to stand with him. She honestly felt as though it was too late to change the nature of their relationship, but even so, she found that part of her did want to keep him to herself, and to not have to share him with the Mizuno family. What right did they have to a better man than Rei had had all her life?

Rei lowered her head, her eyes dropping to the ground in submission to his warning. It was about as close to an apology as she would get in this case. She felt resigned to his next suggestion, although that familiar stubbornness she was known for decided to rear it's head again. With a frown on her face, Rei raised her head again, but paused a moment to consider what she would say carefully. "I'm sure one of the men that usually follows me around is here somewhere. He's usually within speaking distance, so it's not necessary for you to use one of your own men. I wouldn't want to keep someone from doing what they were originally tasked with -- I don't have other plans for the day. Frank is working on a case this weekend, and Grandfather is training new staff -- I can just as easily bring the food I buy home myself." She realized afterward just how odd her reasoning sounded -- she hadn't mentioned anything about friends. But it was true that Rei hadn't had any plans for the weekend. She had merely woken up and decided to feed her puppy homemade food for the simple fact that it was a way to get attention. It was childish, but sometimes it was the only way to get her father to notice she was even there.

He probably noticed her now, and even made a point of pointing out that she was something of a target for being out. "Given how little we're seen together, they probably know I'm not much of a target. Half of them probably don't have any idea who I am," she quipped evenly. The moment the words were out, her eyes widened. Rei hadn't meant to say that at all. In her mind she had been about to say that she was always careful, as could be evident by past deeds, but instead something else entirely had popped out. Was she really losing her ability to keep up a mask when around her father? After so long?

POST FOUR

What is going on in this scene? Pax is in cat-form and having lunch with a human.

Tony had to be a mind reader. There was no other explanation for it. Pax had been sitting there, eyeing the table and debating whether or not to jump on it, when Tony placed his shoe onto the chair. Pax hadn't even seen Tony take the shoe off, but he must have if it was now seated beside Pax. He had been in need of a seat, and Tony had provided it... well, sort of. It wasn't quite a stool or child seat, but it would probably work. Pax could sit on his haunches, reach the table, and then eat. Hopefully. He was going to have to do some serious tail wagging or something to get Tony to read his mind about that -- although he couldn't really think of anything else Tony would expect a cat to do inside a dining place. Pax could only hope that he'd get something good to eat. Chicken, tuna, salmon -- hell, any kind of fish would do. Pax seemed to be thinking like a cat in the sense that he had been craving fish lately.

Maneuvering himself onto the shoe, Pax tried to make himself comfortable, and then glanced back at his dining companion expectantly. He wasn't sure how to send his thoughts across to Tony. He just... willed it. Whether or not it worked, Pax didn't know. But soon after he began staring at the cop intently, Tony got up and wandered away. Pax tried craning his neck to see where Tony was going, but he could only see so much. But with Tony now gone, Pax felt like an idiot. Here he was, a cat, sitting alone at a table, on top of a shoe. This couldn't possibly be normal. Being a cat certainly wasn't normal, but Pax felt that by being a cat inside a restaurant, sitting at a table by himself was really abnormal. All those parents that told their kids to be different and stand out needed to learn a thing or two from being a cat -- being different was kind of scary. People were definitely going to talk about Pax, and even though they weren't going to know who he was, Pax still didn't like it when people talked about him.

Before long Tony returned. Pax was only glad to see the officer because it meant he wouldn't look like an idiot alone. It did, however, make him wonder about Tony. What grown man had a meal with a cat? Tony's probably one of those weird cat lovers. I hope he's not one of those cat talkers, too. He grimaced a little at the thought, but Tony didn't really say anything yet. He merely put a bowl of milk in front of Pax.

Pax blinked. Milk? Did cats really drink this stuff? Sure he had thought of it earlier, but he had assumed he would get a little meat to actually chew. How the hell was he supposed to eat milk? Lap it up? How did cats do that, though? Pax had never lapped anything up like that before -- and he had no thumbs or fingers, so he couldn't just pick up the bowl... oh, this was aggravating. He leaned toward the milk, sniffing it suspiciously. It smelled fine. Giving a quick glance up at Tony before looking back at the bowl, Pax hesitantly moved his face toward it, sticking his tongue out to try and lap up the stuff. It turned out to be surprisingly easy. He wasn't sure how it had worked, or how he knew what to do, but that didn't really matter -- he could now drink milk! Pax quickly began lapping up the white liquid, enjoying the feel of a full stomach again when he was done. Finally -- now he didn't feel completely forsaken by the world.

When he had finished, Pax found himself with the uncontrollable urge to clean himself. He lifted a paw to begin, licking at the hair with a mixture of pleasure and disgust. He definitely wasn't cut out to be a cat. If he got a hairball later... Pax shuddered. He just couldn't think about it. Instead, he finished cleaning his one paw and glanced over at Tony again, craning his head to see what he was eating. A sandwich. Of course. If he were still hungry, Pax might try and find a way to ask for a piece of the sandwich, but he was actually quite content after that bowl of milk. So, instead, he opted for the first thing that came to mind.

"Thank-you." He had been expecting a meow to come out, because that was normally what cats did... but this wasn't a meow that came out of his mouth. It was an actual word. At least, that's what it sounded like. But that couldn't really be possible, could it? Pax glanced over at Tony with wide eyes, unsure what had just occurred.

POST FIVE

What is going on in this scene? The start of Jeremy and Adele going to the bus stop.

Jeremy cringed as he gathered his materials from his desk. There were still bruises on his body from his last couple of encounters with... well, it was still hard for Jeremy to rectify what exactly had happened. The part where he had changed -- transformed -- into something out of an ancient Roman film. He had thought it had all been a dream, but the cuts, scrapes, and bruises he had endured as a result of that whole day still lingered. It couldn't be a dream if he was sore from injuries he shouldn't feel. But he could feel the pain, and as a result, Jeremy had to admit that whatever had transpired that day, had actually happened. The logical part of his brain told him it couldn't be possible. People just didn't... magically change outfits and fight off monsters. Of course, logically speaking, monsters shouldn't exist. But even Jeremy couldn't deny their existence after seeing so many, and being attacked by that one with the teeth... Strange as it might seem, all the things that hadn't seemed possible before, were suddenly in the realm of possible.

Another stab of pain in his back caused Jeremy to stop what he was doing, a hand going to the back of his neck. He could only imagine that this was what it felt like to be old, which didn't bode well for him in the future. Of course, Jeremy would be lucky to make it to the future if these monster attacks kept up. If he could only guarantee that he wouldn't end up near another monster again, then perhaps he wouldn't end up in a wheelchair, or worse, dead. But Jeremy couldn't guarantee that -- no one could. There was some sort of plague upon the city unleashing such dark creatures, which should really make Jeremy grateful that all he had endured thus far were bruised body parts. He couldn't say as much for the ones that had been killed, or critically injured. Each day the paper and news discussed at least one new incident.

That alone was enough to make Jeremy worry about the well being of Bianca when she was at school, or en route between school and home. Monsters could spring up at her at any time. And the same went for some of the students here -- cram schools were open until really late at night, which meant students had to go home during the most dangerous time of day. Today he had managed to be done right at six -- he had given his eight o'clock class to a colleague. The man was about to have a baby with his wife, and they needed some extra money. As much as Jeremy needed money to pay for Bianca's tuition, he felt he could give up a few class slots to someone about to embark on the biggest journey of all. Besides, with his body hurting like it was, Jeremy would never have been able to last until eight o'clock tonight. He had barely managed to make it to now.

As he gathered the last of his materials, depositing them into his bag, the sound of a phone ringing caught his ears. He glanced up to see who it was, barely catching the glimpse of dark hair as someone ducked out of the classroom. He could hazard a few guesses as to who it was, although he probably didn't need to guess at all. Adele Harada was one of his brightest students, and as far as Jeremy could tell, she actually enjoyed history. It was students like her that made him enjoy his job, and continued to give him a reason to keep on teaching. For the last few sessions, Adele had always been the last student out of class, which was something Jeremy was coming to be used to. It was nice to hear that someone had enjoyed his class, although part of him assumed she was gearing up to eventually ask for a reference or private tutoring sessions. That was usually what most students in the cram school seemed to want, or need -- almost all of them were preparing for college entrance exams, so they wanted to be as far ahead of the curve as they possibly could.

Jeremy gave a final glance around the room, nodding to himself that he had gotten all his things. He didn't have anything left at his desk in the teacher's lounge, so there was no need to go back there. Instead, Jeremy could start for home -- taking the bus, and perhaps resting for a bit before tomorrow began. Of course, it was very likely the bus would end up hitting a few bumps in the road, but it sure as hell beat walking -- and Jeremy would take anything over walking if it meant avoiding another monster.

He wasn't expecting anyone else to be in the hallway when he exited the classroom, so Jeremy was surprised to come across Adele not far from the doorway. He paused for a moment, glancing back at the classroom and then at Adele, trying to remember whether or not she had any additional classes to take this evening. She appeared lost in thought, so Jeremy cleared his throat to capture her attention. "Good evening, Miss Harada. Did you need something, or simply waiting for a ride home?" Being a teacher, Jeremy felt it was part of his duty to ask such questions. Plus, with everything that had been going on around the city lately, making sure students weren't left unattended was also important. Jeremy didn't like the idea of being responsible for someone meeting with an unfortunate accident just because he hadn't stopped to make sure they had a way home.

Anything else?

Be willing to keep up with me in terms of how much I write. It’s discouraging to put all sorts of work into my posts only to get much less than I wrote. If I crank out 800 words, I’d rather not get only 200 responding only to dialogue. There’s more to a post than just the dialogue, and if you’re going to post consistently less quality than me, I will probably stop replying altogether. I want someone that likes the idea of writing a lot, taking time to create well rounded characters, and really develop a plot as we go. I'm open to the idea of private sites right now, or possibly joining one new site, or you joining one of the two sites I'm on -- but we can easily sort out what would work best whenever we talk.

Someone patient would be nice. As I’ve said, I can be busy at times, and I’d like to know that you’ll be okay with chatting via the PM system on a forum if I absolutely cannot get onto my messenger for a few days, or even a week. If I had all the time in the world, then you can bet I’d be on my messengers all the time - but school comes first, and having a partner respect that, and even root me on during stressful times, would be beyond wonderful. Be willing to play both males and females. A majority of the time I get people who “only” play females, despite my request they do otherwise — if you’re like that, don’t bother responding to me.
