I hit the button constantly... @_@

Like usually after I finish each post of mine. It's a force of habit after my first ever real forum experience, where reading posts wouldnt mark them read like it should have. Instead, it would only be marked as read after seeing the post and then going back to the topic list. So I always hit the forum read button after posting or reading all the posts that interested me.

Never. I like the wanton tease of a false "new posts" marker in the evening - my heartbeat in my throat, hoping beyond hope that this will-o-wisp leads towards the golden fields of newly minted words and not the bitter quagmire of a postless moor, dank and stagnant with death and despair. I creep along the corridor of cybernetic promise at the mercy of the cruel electronic fates, who deal with each man as if he were an ant upon which to focus one gleaming thread of the sun's fire. As I stand (and I stand but as a man) I must proceed into the subforum, my wits and my torch about me, thrusting an inquisitive click into the endless depths of change and tumult, held to the whimsy of a million other interlopers who are for but a second raised to the status of Gods. The dance of the false post is done on the precipice of disaster, but not to dance is not to live, my friend.

Never!!! I'm one of those that wants it unread until I read it. And I want it to stay that way! The only time I will is if there is a board with a very popular guest ads section and I'm not going to read that and don't want those showing up on my unread list.

Otherwise? BRING ON THE UNREAD STUFF.

Else, how can I read it?

Never. Never ever. Though, I'm definitely guilty of being one of those people who get around this site by people linking me to things. It's calmed down lately, but I swear a couple days I'd be online for five seconds and be bombarded by like 20 links to things to read/reply/think about. XD Sometimes I don't even look at the index if it's a busy day.

Never. Then again, I never find links through the front page of the site or forums. I always find new posts through the new posts links, similar to what the 'D has.

Never. (I don't ever believe that I have in the history of my being on the Teh Interwebz.) It's not because I don't know where it is, but to be quiet frank I really the way that the "No New" and "New" forum markers contrast each other... When all of the forum markers are "No New" or "New", it makes me sad. :(

I hit it after I've looked through the topics and read the ones I want to read. It's a bit insane, but it makes me jittery to have page upon page of unread topics, even if I know I didn't want to read them in the first place.

I use it all the time.
Like the above poster. I read what I am interested in and then mark everything else as read so it doesn't jump out at me again next time I visit the forum.

I've been here a grand total of a half an hour and I've already hit it once. The contrast between read and unread topic buttons may be cool to some, but it bothers me personally. xD
