My brother's been trying to get me on one, but I'm not really the type who wants companionship like that. I prefer to be alone in a quiet place (life o' the party, right?). XD

I was once on Match.com, when it provided one week free trial. Of course, I had no intention to get married abroad, only to find some pen pals. And I did. From India to Mexico. So, I liked the experience.

I actually met two of them, months - or, in a case, two years later (and no, it was no matter of being a date. Just meeting them, and talking with a third once or twice at phone (a short overseas conversation, not more than 2 minutes).

I had told my work colleagues about this too, and 3 others had joined the site for the free trial period too. Two of them had the opportunity to meet some of their pen pals a while later too.

I've joined one, but I've never really used it.

I've never joined an online dating site and, honestly, never intend to. There's nothing wrong with them or the people who are on them; I'm just one of those people who doesn't worry about looking for the right one. I'm a pretty firm believer in just living my life day to day and not worrying too much about the future. If I'm looking too far ahead, I may trip right over what's in front of me now. xD Furthermore, I'm already in a pretty devoted relationship with someone online. My boyfriend and I have been a couple... hrm... it'll be three years on August 7th. :) Its a long distance relationship and I admit, it isn't easy, but I'm really glad to have met him and to have him. Its hard to believe that we wouldn't have met at all if I hadn't joined the site I currently admin.

Online relationships have been becoming more acceptable in today's society. Its a slow process. It's still really awkward to tell someone,"Oh my boyfriend lives in Michigan." "Michigan? How did you meet him!? O.o" "... On an internet forum...." I admit, I get hesitant to tell them because they do give such an odd, judgemental look, which is kinda... bleh.

I had a friend who joined one and I admit, I worried about him a lot. ^^; He isn't as internet savvy and at the time we were 18. I was a little worried that some creepy geezer'd hit on him; at the time he was exploring his sexuality and wanted to try dating another man. I personally don't think there was much to explore; I've been pretty sure since the day I met him that he gay. xD And if not gay, very metro. I love him though. <3

I joined eHarmony because of my depression. It had worked for one of my guy friends, and it gave me someone to talk to for the time being. Unfortunately the subscription I had charged my account twice in one month, and then again in the month I had cancelled. Thankfully they gave me a refund for those two months, but the damage was already done - my bank account had went into overdraft mode. Their support/payment system is very screwy - and I don't think they care; I think they just care about the money.

The guys there were very... eh. One. Only one was actually worth talking to. He left and we emailed. I think his name was Tyler? I love art, he loved architecture. But we quit talking. See, I'd mentioned I wasn't into hooking up or anything. That turned a lot of guys away. I was also very straight forward with things like I typically tend to be.

It was also annoying when I'd receive female matches, even though I marked the "straight" check box. Then I'd get females who made male accounts and used a female picture and actually said they were female and just trying to get women who "aren't like the others". Another guy was this really sweet guy, and he turned out to be a woman. A lot of people lie, and the eHarmony Terms aren't really even followed.

    I wouldn't join again.

Actually, I don't think I'd try ANY kind of dating site again. I'm done. P: I joined match.com, and I receive this promiscuous emails from women and whatnot. I didn't even give them my email, and the emails started when I signed up for Match.

I voted No. and i would never. The reason being is because at the moment, I'm happily engaged to my boyfriend of nearly 6 years, will be 6 in September. Not because i think there is anything wrong with meeting people through a dating site or online... because... funny enough. I met my fiancee through a yahoo chatroom. For Delaware... the story behind this is really hilarious since i was only visiting my mom, i actually lived in alabama, i went back then found out my fiancee was chatting to me from two streets over. I moved back two years later, met him and been with him ever since so.....

Who needs to pay for eharmony? :p lol... i do think that its a good resource to be out there for people though :)
