Preferred Genre(s) or Fandom(s): Comics [New 52 DC preferred, or at the very least, a Batman RPG wherein the Bats is still learning the ropes] Preferred Word Count:0-250. While I am more than capable of writing more, I dislike word counts. Preferred Violence Content: Some/Most. Free-for-all would be nice, but those tend to be against the Proboards/IF/Jcink ToS. Preferred Sexual Content: Some/Most. I prefer to have the option of fading to black. Preferred Level: Open to all. Not Looking for: Nolanverse, Justice League, or any forum where close to, if not every main canon character is taken. I'm not saying I want a canon, but having the option is nice. Other notes: N/A
I believe I have just what you're looking for! The Blackest Night and Brightest Day have passed. The world of DC is entering a new age, and while heroes regain their strength, villains are mobilizing. Darkness and turmoil may be in the past, but times of peace are fleeting. Chaos lurks in every shadow and defiantly conquers all in its path. You now control the fate of this new world.
God, that layout is gorgeous. Unforunately, I think the whole OCs-can-only-be-civillians thing turned me off. That, and I'm not terribly familiar with that middle ground between the end of Blackest Night/Brightest Day and the beginning of the New 52. I'm sorry. D:
Batman's taken, but it's a Smallville/DC/City roleplay, and it could be just what you're looking for! Possibly! metropolis- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -met-site started from a smallville season 11 role play. we've created on our own timeline based on events from the show along with elements of dc comics and other fantasy genres. anchored in the urban setting of metropolis, this site branches all over the world. with heroes like superman, wonder woman, batman, aquaman, black canary, and green arrow it would be hard for civilians in many cities to not feel safe. then again with villians creating chaos all over the world, those heroes are still very much needed. feel free to look around, browse some threads, or even sign up! we're always happy to have new members, and we're now currently accepting all types of characters!- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -home || characters || application || advertise
So, I have a JCINK board that plays on the element of truth to story-telling. It's a present day roleplay in an original fantasy setting based around Earth, with some fandom re-imaginings. There's no word count – at any given time you'll find threads of all lengths, depending on the comfort zone and mood of the players in the thread. The site's about medium sized and we're all very friendly and welcoming <3!A lot of the fandom re-imaginings involve comic book characters that have been reworked to make them more fantastical or supernatural inclined (removing future and alien elements), including Kryptonians and Inhumans as fae, the X-Men and Acolytes as Overmen in the organisations Leviathan and Fereydun, Gotham, Atlanteans, Amazons and others. We have a full canon list of both original and re-imagined characters. OCs are also accepted and encouraged. The characters on the board so far range from gorgons, powered humans, normal humans, fae, fairy tale characters, elves, vampires, Amazons, Atlanteans, werewolves, mages, witches and a whole host of other praeternatural and mythological beings ^^. Once Upon A Time, Man stopped giving the stories faith. But it was the stories that gave life meaning. Without the stories, there was no more worth within life. The Great Spider Anansi looked to the world, mourning what it had lost, and was moved to action. The spider wove his web, beginning a new story. And from that story, all stories that had been before – the stories that had been real, read, spoken or imagined – lit back to life. From that story, all things were made possible.
Sorry for the double post! I figured I'd touch on Gotham's side of things in a little more detail. It's a budding AU Gotham setting within my fantasy board with good, solid players writing for Dick Grayson, Bruce Wayne, Selina Kyle, Cassandra Cain and Pamela Isley with the other canons still available, and the setting open to original characters, too. It's kind of combined elements of No Man's Land and New Gotham. It's in a setting where the characters don't have superhero identities, however. They still do their vigilante thing, but they don't call themselves Batman, Nightwing, Robin, Batgirl, etc. They do use the symbolism and iconography of the Bat to empower Gotham's champion's struggle against its darkness, though. We have a wonderful writer apping for Joker right now and another one looking at Harley. 'Despite the feelings of Gotham’s criminals, the Bat isn't an identity or any one man. It's an icon, a collective, a larger entity and a sense of purpose. It's everyone who's trying to bring hope to Gotham, from Bruce Wayne to Tim Drake, from Barbara Gordon to Stephanie Brown, from Jim Gordon to Alfred Pennyworth. The Bat is the symbol of Gotham’s hope, and the people willing to fight to preserve it. With their strength, Gotham has endured every adversity it has faced, from the depravities of its criminals to the earthquake that once cracked in half, and through it all one thing has become resoundingly clear. When the lights go out forever, when madness knocks, raving, at the door, there will be still sane, good men in Gotham to bring light to the darkness... and to ensure that there is no hiding place for evil.' If you're interested, the board's information links are here: http://deadlight.b1.jcink.com/index.php?showforum=1 And the Gotham forums are here: http://deadlight.b1.jcink.com/index.php?showforum=180 It's integrated along with a number of other things in the board. The Gotham stuff has only just been put into the board, so it's in its cradle right now, ready to grow. We'd love to have you <3!
