RPG-Directory has a "zero tolerance" policy against copyright infringement and plagiarism. Members who are discovered using copyrighted works without the permission of their original authors may face severe consequences.

Copyright infringement is the unauthorized or prohibited use of works under copyright, infringing the copyright holder's exclusive rights, such as the right to reproduce or perform the copyrighted work, or to make derivative works. It often refers to copying intellectual property without written permission from the copyright holder, which is typically a publisher or other business representing or assigned by the work's creator. -- Wikipedia, Copyright Infringement

Plagiarism is defined in dictionaries as the "wrongful appropriation," "close imitation," or "purloining and publication" of another author's "language, thoughts, or expressions," and the representation of them as one's own original work. -- Wikipedia, Plagiarism

Members should understand that copyright infringement as RPG-Directory can apply it in enforcement applies only to the language and expressions used in documents, and also the coding, graphics, skin, or other specific frameworks that make up a web page. Copyright infringement does not apply to an idea. In layman's terms and as an example, copyright infringement does not apply to two boards which have similar ideas or plots, but may apply if the two boards have identically written documents about those ideas or plots.

If you believe that you have been the victim of copyright infringement or plagiarism, bring your concerns immediately to the staff's attention. RPG-Directory takes these complaints seriously and will thoroughly look into the issue. Substantiated instances of copyright violation will result in the contact of appropriate authorities (in most cases, the server which the site is being hosted on) and on-board repercussions.

RPG-Directory respects creators, and will do everything in its power to protect the safety of their works.
