<span style='font-size:8pt;line-height:100%'>Bishop City, a place where corruption and crime thrive under a leadership that is so crooked, it’s a miracle it's still standing. For years, this corrupt leadership has ensured that the city has remained informally divided into four: West Side, where the powerful and wealthy settle down and build their families, North End, where the young businessman can climb the corporate ladder, South End, where the average Joe lives his average life on an average salary, and East Side, the realm of crime, violence and poverty, where every day is a struggle to survive. It is not an ideal situation...in fact, it is the exact opposite, but that is today's situation in Bishop City, and it is the way it has been for many years. But there may very well be change on the way...

While the four mafias of the city are stepping dangerously close to war, the people of Bishop City prepare for the upcoming election, which may set in stone what future the city faces. It is a chance to rid of the old - the corrupt leadership of Mayor Ian Anderson - and replace it with a new, possibly one determined to change the city for the better, someone who can make a change in every citizen of Bishop City's life? Or perhaps it will go the other way, and "the new" will be an ever greater evil, which will ensure a formal division of the city for all days to come. The criminals have already chosen their candidate - the one who will benefit them the most - but the criminals are greatly outnumbered. It is in the hands of the people that the power still sits; the power to mould tomorrow. Amidst all this corruption in crime, there is a bright light shining. Is there still hope for Bishop City? Only time will tell.

I just recently joined this site, and it looks like it's going pretty well. My character needs a few other people to complete her plot, though. Lol.

• After almost four months, we're still going strong, and we're not going anywhere! The site has proved to be a source of fun for us admins, and we hope that our members feel the same way.
  To spruce up the site for Christmas, we've added an amazing new skin, with some really cool features.
  
  As for in character news, the race for mayor is still going on, and it's going to up to all our characters to decide who wins! Also, the Bishop City Fair is in progress, so that's an excellent opportunity for new characters to meet the old ones!

• Our six month anniversary is coming up next week, and we're proud to say that Closer is still as much fun as ever. We started the year with an activity check, and we currently have 99 registered characters, and around thirty players. It changes fast though, seeing as new players and characters are being joined all the time!
  
  As for in character news, the West Bishop Senior Dare has been set in motion, meaning that the rich and pampered private school kids from West Side are mingling with the scum of the city, better known as the East Siders. It's an excellent chance for fun plottage!
  
  For the older characters, we're planning a concert soon, where there will be lots of chances for new characters to meet the old ones. So what are you waiting for?

• We just celebrated our seven month anniversary, and yes, we're still having fun, and we have no plans of letting that change. The old characters are as busy as ever, getting tangled up in plotty goodness, and the new ones... well, the new ones are doing the same thing!
  
  As for in character news, Halloween is coming up, and the high school kids are getting to ready to party like it's... well, like it's Halloween, of course. With this unruly bunch, we can guarantee you both tricks and treats!
  
  For the older characters, there's gonna be an Irish Cultural Festival in South End, and with the Guinness flowing freely, that's gonna be a lot of fun. If Guinness doesn't tickle your tastebuds the right way, you could always go watch the pretty colleens riverdance, or maybe look for the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow? You never know what you might end up finding.

• Our 1 year anniversary is fast approaching, and we're super proud of our game for making it this far - and for still being as active and fun as it is! Over 100 characters were posted in our last activity check, and we've still got a more than solid member base that's just waiting for you to join!
  
  
  As for in character news, it's time for Thanksgiving in Bishop City, and, of course, we've got stuff planned. For the average Joe, we've got a Thanksgiving Parade in South End, which is a great chance to get your character involved with others.
  
  For the rich and powerful, we've got the Thanksgiving Charity Dinner and Auction, where the high profile people of the city will be schmoozing and boozing and of course, spending money.

I'm signed up here. It's really a great site - I was pretty much mauled with juicy plotness as soon as I got there, and the member base is really good for plotting at the moment - there are still a fair few canons left, and so much flexibility in terms of character concepts - it's generally a really nice place to be roleplaying. I'm pretty new and I already feel like a part of the community.

• Exactly one year ago today, I was posting in this thread for the first time. We had big hopes for our board, but at the same time, we were worried, because so many games open and close within a week. We were determined to not let that happen to us though, and guess what? It didn't! Today is our one year anniversary, and Closer is alive and kicking! What's more, we plan to be around for years to come. Just so you know.

• Tomorrow, Closer will have been open for sixteen months! As my signature says: time flies when you're having fun! And, if we have anything to say about it, we'll continue to make it fly!
  
  We do, of course, have stuff happening IC: we just kicked off the city wide black out, in which we lock a bunch of characters, who may or may not like each other, in close quarters, and see what happens. This is a super fun way for newbies to get involved!

We've also updated a few things around the board, to streamline it and to make things easier both for us and for our members.
  
  As for IC news, the blackout is still going on, and we're in the process of planning a couple of other fun events that will make it super easy for new members to get involved with the board.

I've been playing at Closer for almost exactly a year now and, I have to say, it is without a doubt one of my favoritest places to hang out. Especially the Cbox. XD

The writers, particularly the lovely admins, are all fabulous and fun, the characters and individual plots are fascinating and so real, and the skin is absolutely beautiful. I've done some of my best writing and found some of my favorite plots there and I miss it like crazy even when I've only been gone for a day or two. :D Anyone who hasn't joined yet is really missing out!!

I've been a member of Closer for some time now and I must admit it is one of my favorite boards ever.
Heidi and Birthe are those dedicated admins that every site should have, they're hard working and active. And very nice too!

It's a friendly community that welcomes new members with open arms and no one is left behind. Which I personally think is wonderful. Join today and you'll have tons of great lots tomorrow - with original or canon character, it doesn't matter at all. Come to Closer for love and fun and good writing!

• Hot diggity, has it been two years already? It must have been, because we're today celebrating our two-year anniversary on Closer! We're currently in July/August approaching the end of summer, IC. We had an activity check not too long ago, and were happy to find that we had 102 active characters running around, with more of them added since! As for our numbers, characters are pretty evenly distributed across the board, with the girls having the boys beaten by two the last time we counted. The same goes for distribution in our city sections, though we could use a few more West Siders, so if anyone's feeling like playing a member of the rich and powerful, come on down and join us!

  Speaking of parties, we're having one! Our newest event is a big bonfire down at the beach, orchestrated by the mayor (fishing for votes, much?) and it's open for anyone. There will be lots of games, silly prizes, food, music, alcohol, and even a spectacular fireworks display. Needless to say, it's a wonderful opportunity to throw in new characters with old ones, and just have some posty fun!
