Be Thou The Rainbow

Rainbow | Sky

Step 1: Open up a new canvas, size 700 x 500, and fill it with b8ada9.

Step 2: Blend images of your subject as desired.

Step 3: With a large, very soft brush, erase the parts of the first picture that are showing through the second. Here are the settings I used for my brush:
radius: 65
spikes: 2
hardness: 0
aspect ratio: 1
angle: 0
spacing: 20
shape: round
Step 4: Paste the rainbow into a new layer. Go to Layer -> Transform -> Flip Horizontally. Arrange it in the top right corner and resize it to your liking. Use your brush from the last step to erase any part that overlaps with your model as well as most of the empty sky, leaving the rainbow. Set the layer to color, opacity 100%.

Step 5: Create a new layer and fill it with fedcdc. Set it to burn, opacity 50%.

Step 6: Create a new layer and fill it with b3d3e3. Erase the part that covers your model. Set it to soft light, opacity 100%.

Step 7: Create a new layer and fill it with fecece. Set it to grain extract, opacity 30%.

Step 8: Paste the last picture into a new layer. Resize it so that it's 700 x 541. The eclipsed planet should ring -- and draw attention to -- your model and the end of the rainbow. Use your large very soft brush to erase parts over the faces, but leave the ring intact. Set the layer to screen, opacity 50%.

Step 9: Create a new layer and fill it with edcdcd. Set it to hard light, opacity 40%.

Step 10: Text time! You can do whatever you want, but I did my text in edcdcd with "be thou the" in Optimus Princeps 20 px, "Rainbow" in Jane Austen 36 px, and "in the storms of life" in Optimus Princeps 15 px.

Step 11: Enjoy your graphics! I would love to see what you get.
