August Newsletter!Time for our second monthly newsletter! And can the staff just start it out by saying you all are freaking amazing? Thank you so much for being so active, for hanging with us during the move, for raising the $200 we needed for the move in an hour, and for bearing with us as we figure out this new software. The 'D has the best members ever! Recent Site Updates There have been a bajillion changes and updates this month! Many of the more major ones have gotten their own announcement, but here are some of the other things going on around the 'D that you might have missed! As this newsletter covers a lot of ground, if you'd like to start a serious discussion about one of the updates listed here, it might be best to start a new Letter to Staff dedicated to the topic so your comments don't get lost in the crowd. There are new badges and promotions! Check out the Badges and Promotions forum to see the list, which includes Admin Advisor, Considerate Critiquer, Supportive Skinner, Community Chatter, Innovative Interest, and Devious Debater badges and Bookwork, Raving RP'er, and Pro Writer promotions. Note that some of the requirements for various existing badges have also changed, to make the badges more equal. The Challenge Games now have a graphics subforum! Now you will be able to battle it out in Photoshop, GIMP or which ever photo editor that tickles your fancy. The Graphics team has added an animanga section to the Play-by Icons forum! The Directory team has resolved the issue with the old ads that were appearing as active in the directory. When we moved from IPB to Xenforo ads that had been previously archived were un-archived. Thank you to all of the members who brought this to our attention! We're adding new Directory sub-categories so keep an eye out for announcements in cause you would like your ad resorted. The first one we've added is a category for Post-Apocalyptic boards. If you would like your ad moved to that category, please PM a Directory staff team member, and they would be happy to help. The off-site Skindex has been almost completely updated! The final thing left to do now is to tag all of the accepted WOW skins, which should be completed within the next week. In the Works Here are a couple of the many exciting things planned for the future! Starting this month with Support Challenge #42, the Support Team will be running a bi-weekly Coding Project, similar to the Icon Project and Prompt Project. Each project will either focus on a specific coding skill or use of a colour template, and will be open indefinitely. Participation will earn you badges, and items you create can go towards earning user groups, so make sure to come check the Coding Project out! Are there any of you who have a gold badge and wish there were another level beyond that to aspire to? Wish no more! By the end of August, we should be able to introduce the new rainbow badges, a fourth level for each of the badges. The Directory Team is working on updating and improving the top-sites. Keep an eye out for more news to come!!!
