    Character Name: Alexander Felix
Basics: (Will be expanded upon when I actually put up the app.)

    Appearance:
Alexander is five feet ten inches in height, and one hundred and sixty eight pounds in weight with piercing blue eyes. Lean and muscular, he looks every bit the warrior he is. Movements crisp and disciplined, his line of work hammering it into him from childhood, where one mistake could cost you your life, you learn to move with a certain grace and ease of motion.
    Personality:
Alexander's life has been a short one filled with much conflict and loss, turmoil and change, and he has developed an emotional shell around him to conpensate. On the outside, he's extremely outgoing and conversational, because that's part of his job- appearing as if you belong. Another, unfortunantely, is not allowing yourself to get too close to the people around you, because especially in this job they could be dead the next morning and not a soul would care, no official word given. This has hardened him, and despite the grace in which he carries himself and his outgoing manner there is a certain coldness about him as a result. He is also, nearly without err, at least on the outside completely and utterly calm under even the worst situations. It is another thing that kept him alive all of these years, under such harsh conditions.

    Strengths:
Stealth: Alexander, in his years of serving, has learned the art of stealth quite well. Training from childhood gave him the basics, and the threat of torture and a brutally painful death have helped him keep his form refined.
Levelheaded: Alexander has an uncanny ability to keep his head even in the most dire of situations, due to intense training and experience.
Hyperfocus: Alexander can, simply put, put away any and all distractions in pursuit of his objective. This allows him to keep a clear head, and not be deterred from the objective at hand.
Determined: He's not a quitter in any sense of the word, and will push above and beyond his limits to accomplish something he deems necessary.
Adaptability: Simply put, it's his job to find a way to survive in damn near every situation, and has learned both ways of manipulating people and ways of surviving even under the harshest conditions with no outside help to make him better at his job.
    Weaknesses:
Hyperfocus: Due to his single-mindedness, he can miss important details because he hyperfocuses on one particular thing about a person, thing, room, or mission.
Determined: Quite frankly, Alexander is stubborn sometimes. Sometimes he just flat out refuses to budge when he has a goal in mind... And that can be a weakness as well.
Gambler: Alex is a risk-taker in every part of his life. In risk vs. reward, the reward justifies the risk in almost every situation in his mind. If there is a chance to get a greater reward, why would you not pursue it?
Coldness: He has a hard time getting close to anyone, and thus gaining people's loyalty. He doesn't have friends, he has allies given to him for the mission - and that only goes so far.
Zealotry: Simply put, he believes he's acting on the orders of a higher power - his country, and will take his determination to the logical extreme of outright zealotry. Indoctrinated at a young age, disobeying an order is akin to suicide - and he does not question even the most brutal of orders as a result.

Preferred Genre(s): Fantasy. Medieval. Etc. Nothing modern, please.
Preferred Word Count: Doesn't matter to me.
Preferred Violence Content: At least a 2 on RPG Rating.
Preferred Sexual Content: At least a 1 on RPG Rating.
    Preferred Level: Doesn't matter.
Not Looking for: Fandoms. Anywhere where the occupation is only apparent in the app. I don't want to just slap this all down and never touch it again. =p

Other notes: I want my stealth fix. Political drama, etc. are big pluses for me. I want to RP espionage, assassinations, reconnaissance, that sort of stealth fix.

Thanks in advance, and thank you for reading. =)

We're an original post-apocalyptic RPG, but in a future where technology has been knocked back due to some unspecified cataclysmic event (and it's generations later) so it definitely doesn't have a modern feel, more of an fantasy/other one, except without magic. I think Alexander could be a good fit. The zealotry could work quite well with some of the leadership figures we have on the board^^. Anyway, in case your interested:

The man stood by the river, staring out into the water as the boy flailed in the rapids. The boy screamed out for help and then sunk beneath the water again. The man turned, prepared to walk off into the forest, but then the boy bobbed up in the waves again, clutching at a rock. He stared for a moment more, waiting to see if the boy would drown. The boy was pulled under the water again.

The man began to walk away when the boy reached the surface once more releasing one last scream for help. He sighed, set down his bag and dove into the water, swimming for the boy. For a moment, neither the man nor the boy was visible beneath the water. Then the white bubbles turned red. A body floated to the surface, catching on rocks every so often before disappearing into the current.

A moment later, he flopped onto the floor next to the bags. Climbing to his feet, he reached down and sorted through the gear. Satisfied with the find, the boy lifted up the bags and walked away.

    *****

The year is… well no one really knows. Year 104 by the count, but that’s just when people cared enough to count again. It seems that at first, no one thought anyone would survive. We don’t know much, but we know there was a Before Time. We know they lived in giant cities, filled with more people than you could even imagine and built buildings in an effort to reach the sun. They flew in hunks of metal and by some accounts could even breathe underwater.

Some say the Before Timers thought they were Gods so God punished them. Others say that because the Before Timers wielding God-like power, destroyed the earth and each other themselves.

The hows and whys don’t really matter so much. All that matters in the end is survival. In order for the strong to survive, the weak must be crushed along the way. There are multiple groups trying to eke out a living in this world and they are constantly at war with one another. Ultimately, it's everyone for themselves.

How do you enjoy things semi-based on Renaissance Europe and such? Rapier Wit is something like Princess Bride meets Three Musketeers, mixed with swordplay and sorcery. (Yes - you read that right, Sorcery, which makes me think it falls into more of a unique historical fantasy category.) We've brought in some historical and literary elements to the proverbial melting pot, so I don't know how you feel about that. Our world is based more off of silly stereotypes and a lot of cinematic styles from Renaissance Europe based things, each country with their own unique flair. We actually have a whole country based around being sneaky and assassination (our Italian equivalent - Vodacce). We also have the Inquisition (much like the Spanish Inquisition) that's based around some of those traits as well. Since it's a bunch of different countries in this time-frame, we do have a lot of political intrigue going on in a lot of countries as well.

We're on the smaller side, probably about 15ish active players (lots of alts as everyone likes to have a character in various parts of the world) and it's really easy to get involved in plots right now since we're only about 2 months old. To specifically speak to a staff member - look for someone in blue or green, as those are our administrators and moderators. We also tend to be overly friendly to new people - so fair warning!

Good luck in your search and happy hunting!

    ----------------------
What if Renaissance Europe were not just about men serenading girls at night and women in fluffy court dresses? What if the Sidhe really did exist and the Holy Graal sat in the Queen of England's throne room? What if the Brother's Grimm stories were not just tales, but a journal of encounters? In the world of Theah, such things are all possible. Sorcerers wield fire, shape shift into animals and rip bloody (literally) portals into thin air to step through to another part of the world. Here, there be dragons, gargoyles and sea monsters.

In a nutshell, Rapier Wit is a forum that revolves around the idea of an alternate Europe setting during the Renaissance era. However, Rapier Wit is NOT EARTH. Mostly, because in this world, it is possible to encounter a monster or ghost. If you're ridiculously unlucky, you might find yourself facing a dragon or the mysterious 7th Sea.

The world of Theah is highly stylized following some romanticized viewpoints of history, throwing in some stereotypes and elements from famous literature roughly set somewhere along these timelines. Mystery, excitement, action, adventure and romance all are possible in the world we call Theah.

Hi there! Alexander sounds like he'd fit it really well at Ama, right down to the nutter zealotry! We've just opened and we certainly have room for stealth and political intrigue, as well as a number of ways to make your mark on the world. There's always going to be something going on.

If you're curious, Ama is here! I'm almost always available to field questions, if you have them, and I'd love to help get you into the game ^^

Hi, I would like to invite you to check out The Menagerie.

We are a High Fantasy role playing community that is actally a game, rather than just free writing. We employ a very simple, learn-as-you-play system that lends some structure and prevents god modding and allows character growth. No complex stats, though we do have gold, loot, equipment as well as magic and John Woo style fighting action and so on! Just a hint of process addiction to give you some personal goals to compliment awesome story lines.

Your character is your creation within simple guidelines, create something all original. Classes don't exist (they don't in real life), but you can build an archetypal character through the use of our Talent system. We have some factions in our world, so your character can belong to something greater than themselves as well, if they like.

Our collection of players are all mature, creative writers and we enjoy being friends. We have been about for almost ten years and through some five incarnations. We feel the current one is the best so far, doing away with complicated mess and focussing on fun.

We don't bother with word counts. Both style and substance count for something. We all enjoy incredible, articulate posts, but sometimes those one liners hit the mark.

Our world is all original and you needn't feel intimidated by huge, over arching sit plots. Many of our players form writing partnerships and run multiple threads at once - we just want you having fun!

I hope to see you there. We're always excited to see a new face on site.

    Thanks for your consideration.

    ~ Grayell.

Can I interest you in Age of Intrigue? We are a historical RPG based in the 17th century in Merry England, think musketeers across the channel. Themes we enjoy are swashbuckling, intrigue, science, art and yes romance too. The site has been running since june 2006 with about 25 players.

As a game we hope for 2 posts a week. We are all adults (we are 18+), many of us either in college or in a working job, so that real life takes precedence is a given. As long as you tell us for how long you'll be absent you won't be archived during some obscure activity check. Communication is key.

We believe in quality before quantity so there is no set word count. Just give us the best you've got. Our game isn't free form but runs on an easy to understand game system. All you really need to read is the material in the starter guide of wiki, the rest is optional. You will get lots of aid from the moderators who will also plot with you in your own secret forum where you can keep notes and stuff.

Our current theme might look a little fluffy but there is a lot of dark conspiracy and cloak & daggery underneath that is about to reveal itself. Here is our current advertisement:

Be a cavalier in the decadent Baroque court of Merry King Charles II of England in 1676. At Court just beneath the surface raw ambition works a rare frenzy in the ongoing struggle for royal favour, wealth and success. Virtue has given way to libertine licentiousness. Religious intolerance is the rule, while arts and science are shaped for centuries to come. Will the new German Queen be able to restore propriety in a society that has lost its morals? Will the freedom loving Protestant Parliament triumph over the absolute King Charles Rex? Or will the secret Jesuit Order convince the King to convert and have the French King Louis XIV come to his aid?

    Now in our Windsor season!

Running since 2006 with original game system. Steady. Small. Enjoyable.
