An RP site where you are on a "reality TV" series.

If a character goes inactive or the player decides to archive their character (or for any reason, should a member get banned), the character has been "voted out" or whatever.

And if a character comes back (be sure to have a limit on this, though), suppose the character was brought back to the show by "popular demand".

How well do you think this would work? any extra thoughts on this?

I actually think this is an awesome idea. xD But what kind of reality show would it be? A dating show? Something like Survivor or Fear Factor? I think it's an awesome concept, but I'm not sure how well it could be achieved.

That's the problem. It could be applied to most reality TV show types. But I think it might work best for "survival" sort of things. Not like "we put you here with no provisions" like thing... but more like

Surviving living with one another with a set living condition and you have challenges once every week.

Something like the Real World, maybe?

I'm not familiar with the show, but I'm going to guess this is similar, only it's got elimination in it... and it's not just any old setting?

There's not really any elimination in the Real World, but every season they pick different settings. One time it was in Philly and it's been in other places, too. You can probably learn more about it here than you would from me. I know in some seasons they're given jobs and stuff like that, but I'm sure you could somehow integrate challenges into it.

Or it could be something like I Love Money, where they compete in challenges for moneyz. Greed, ftw.

P.S. i'm totally not a reality t.v. lover or anything. >.>

It'd be fun but I dislike the idea of eliminations. :/

It's an interesting idea... I've played forum Survivor and Big Brother before, as semi-RP on a non-RPG general HP forum, and it was actually great fun. But with shows like these the problem is that you wouldn't have that many roles, no? And how long can you draw out the actual competition? And from what I remember, being amongst the last few people to be voted off, it's getting utterly boring being confined in an area with only a few people posting, so I'd try to come up with something to counter that as well if you are interested in playing something similar.

The eliminations is simply a plot device.

Not something to do willy nilly. It's just to "best" way to explain why a character suddenly went missing.

The competition would just go on. I don't plan on narrowing down the amount of competitors. That was never my intention.
