I realized we have no forum that could specifically be for READING. So I put this here. I didn't think it fit in media.

ANYWHO. So I go in spurts where I read all the time. Like, 1-2 novels a day if I have absolutely nothing to do. I start a book and I finish it in 6 hours if I read nonstop. It sucks for some books when I never want it to end and I don't give myself time to savor it. Some books can leave you with this 'DAWWW' feeling that just takes over you.

So, I'm talking romance novels. Dirty ones. >_>

Anyone out there like me who can devour them? I went through one period where I was buying 30 dollars worth of books every paycheck. Like it was so bad that I have an entire shelf of books that I have not read yet. I'd also go hunting on ebay and buy mixed lots or find books that were selling for a buck. I think I like to collect them ahah. I've been really good though the last few months and I have not bought a single one.

Favorite authors? Favorite titles? Favorite genres?

Lisa Kleypas is my absolute favorite. I wish she'd write some more contemporary ones. I go back and forth between historical and contemporary and for a hot minute, I was all up in the vampire ones. My favorite theme is marriage of convenience, which is hard to find in a contemporary setting. Christie Ridgway does them nicely though xD.

I mostly only read gay romance novels, although there are some interesting historical het romance novels that I really liked. Capturing Annie by Patricia Wynn was pretty good, but I have a soft spot for pirate/ship themed stories. I recently read one about a girl called Red Robert but I really disliked that one. Bleh. I like feisty females.

My favorite romance plots are the kind where they hate each other and end up falling in love when forced together. Man, there was this one I absolutely LOVED when I was younger, it was so beaten up because I read it so many times, but I can't remember for the life of me what it was called. I don't have it anymore because when my dad went ballistic one day, he took my entire library of books at the time and.... yeah. Anyway, suffice it to say I no longer own those books anymore. Rawr.

I am also a sucker for friends who never saw it. <3 But enemies become lovers will always be my number one. Such a sucker for the sexual tension.

Bwahahahaha. =3 This TOTALLY used to be my guilty pleasure. I don't have time to read much of anything, let alone naughty books, but... -giggles madly- I definitely loved them.

I was way into "historical" romance. Anything from Pre/during Civil war times and earlier. And <33333 enemies that become lovers. That's one of my favorite things to roleplay, not just read. XD

My favorite romance novel was called Emma and the Outlaw and it definitely centered around a chick that utterly loathed the male-to-become her lover. He was chauvinistic and a jerk and she was a prissy librarian. LULZ. >> At any rate, it ended up having a decently interesting plotline as well. Gods, I can't remember the author's name, but she writes TONS and they're all cheap and awful. XD;

Yes, totally with the whole enemies/lovers thing. I read quite a few last time but I really can't remember what it's called now.

I'd like to see a romance novel dealing with a flawed, plain/ugly girl that never becomes pretty. Too often I read romance novels that consist of either a) a OMGHAWT chick with no flaws whatsoever, b) said OMGHAWT chick with flaws, c) a plain/ugly girl with flaws, but who eventually becomes OMGHAWT before she gets the guy or c) a plain/ugly girl who has no flaws.

I'd really like to see how a plain girl with flaws who doesn't undergo some metamorphosis would play out!

I recently read one called Married in Manhattan. It was really cute, and had two semi-steamy parts. Not really dirty, but then ... I have a vivid imagination. ^_^

Teresa Medeiros often does books with plus sized heroines.

Has anyone seen where Harlequin is republishing their series romances from like decades ago? It's 'Harlequin Vintage.' And they cost the same price as a brand new book does. But you could probably find the ORIGINAL copy on ebay if you really wanted to read it.

I read a lot of Amanda Ashley vamp romance, and Gena Showalter. I'm heavily into the Paranormal. Also, the Sookie Stackhouse series, the "Undead and Unwed" series by Mary Janice Davidson.

And of course, my favorite romance novel, the classic Gone With the Wind.

Those books are so short if I get a hold of some I can read four to six a day. Gone with the wind takes me about 7 hours to read...

My favorite authors are Bertrice Small and Victoria Alexander. Mrs. Small is well...she's borderline erotica but she was the first romance author I read and I'm hooked. Both are historical authors but I tend to like the historical romances better than the modern ones.

As for my favorite, I'd have to say A love for all Time. I love the heroine and a the hero in it even if she tortures them halfway throughout the book. It just makes the ending so much sweeter in the end. :)

ILU. I should take pictures of the stuff on my walls to show you my GWTW collection. I have all the printed tin signs that I know of, figurines, hallmark ornaments, pocket books...etc etc.

But I dunno if I'd call it a romance novel. It's one of those books where there are romantic elements, but it doesn't fit the required mold. It's more like just...fiction.

EEK! My favorites are Sherrilyn Kenyon (Dark hunter books), Christina Dodd, Amanda Ashley (She's not toooo dirty) and Kate Douglas' Wolf Tails series. (Step by step guide to having some dirty action)

I loved, loved, loved the dark hunter series. However, the last one I read was Archeron. It's like she lost something idk.

However, I am anxiously awaiting the new ones from Kresley Cole and Lara Adrian. If you've never read any of theirs, they are awesome.

I've read the series by JR Ward, The Black Daggar Brotherhood and those were pretty steamy but a good read. If you haven't read them yet and you're into vampire romance those are the books for you.
