Con Preparations

Blog entry posted by Jazzystar, Aug 8, 2012.

The convention I’ve been waiting for all year is this weekend! I’ve been preparing, conventions can take a lot out of you. I’ve tried on my outfit (which is just a red and gold kimono) and accessories. The robe has mildew (I think ) on the sleeve but that’s what I get for leaving it in my dirty clothes hamper for so long. I have been collecting accessories over the months which are a red paper umbrella (it’s made of fabric), a $5 hand fan (that is bigger than a normal fan), two flower clips (which I painted gold), and this red thing that I’m going to put in my hair. I went to the mall and got a free sample of foundation (I’m cheap).

I'm going to get my hair relaxed and styled in some kind of bob i'm deciding on if I should end up having to get my hair cut in some bangs. It's hard for me to get my hair cut because it's really damaged and I do not know if it will even grow back.

I felt pretty getting all dressed up so I had my mom take some cosplay photos of me ( I would post them here but I’m extremely self cautious, it’s not like your missing anything). Looking at the picture I noticed that I should get my eyebrow done which will probably hurt no matter which way I do them. It’s important for me to look good because when people take a picture of you and post it on the internet they do not edit it. Also even though you are suppose to ask if you can take a picture some people don't. I remember walking with my friend in our outfits and this tourist lady snapped a photo of us while we were walking. We were like if you just asked we would of stopped and posed for you instead of you getting a weird blurry picture.

My friend that goes to the convention with me every year isn't going this year and it makes me wonder if i'm going to be by myself all the time. We liked the same things and she followed me everywhere and we sat next to each other. I have more people I know are going to be there but i'm not sure if i'm going to find them or if they will want to see the thing I want to see. Good thing there is a panel for making friends at a convention (which will cause me to miss the Durarara fan panel). There are a lot of panels this year pretty much about anything I plan on going to one about Photoshop. There's is one based on Disney recess where you go play games you played when you were little XD I missed it last year but I want to see it.

I still need to buy some snacks and coffee. I believe i'm up to date with all the memes so that I can get most of the jokes.

Getting your eyebrows done doesn't hurt that bad, I promise. I do mine every few days at least, and I wax them constantly. Like, the first time it hurts, but after that, you don't even notice it. Also, waxing, in my opinion, is a lot less painful than tweezing.

"this tourist lady snapped a photo of us while we were walking. We were like if you just asked we would of stopped and posed for you instead of you getting a weird blurry picture." <- that's so rude :-/
