Ok, so I was just reading
this thread and I'm confused. How is replying to a thread "bumping" it? As I understand, they are two very different processes. One is actually adding content to a thread, the other is just pushing it back into the line of vision, correct?
It's bumping it if it's over two months old, as RPGD has a policy of not resurrecting old threads. Another term for this is 'necroposting', ie. raising a dead thread. It's rather simple to just start a new thread.
This policy is especially important in the Requesting RPG forum (which has a 2-week limit), because there have been a number of people who have posted ads to requests that are months old, just to advertise their site (and not to actually respond to the poster). A number of these posters were also not reading the requests and posting sites contrary to what the poster was asking for.
Roswenth is totally right, we put in the policy not to bump any threads older then two weeks in the Requesting RPG for the above reasons.
It can be a bit confusing, but itīs quite simple, just donīt reply to a thread older then two weeks in that forum. And if the topic starter is still looking, they can always start a new thread. And like everything else, itīs always a good idea to read the pinned topics, which mostly explain why something is said in a particular forum.
