Title: Must Haves Of RPG (max. 5)
Temperance - August 15, 2007 02:55 PM (GMT)
If you would like to join a new RP...just NOW in this very second....what elements would it have to have to get you join or get interested? What would you want from the RP?
you can choose max. 5 options.
(sorry can't fit more options than this to the poll, plus had to shove lotsa things in one option...)

I put the myth/mysteries/culture etc one ... I'd be quite interested in that though the virus one sounds quite good as well..
Roswenth - August 15, 2007 03:21 PM (GMT)
I choose "Other" because what I want right now is something that doesn't take itself real seriously, and maybe more of a focus on comedy. I'm much less concerned about genre.
I dunno how it would be done, but maybe an RPG that is kind of come and go?
vision_afar - August 29, 2007 09:02 PM (GMT)
I would've joined something similar to Sin City, actually. Meaning violence, mafia, cops, drugs, sex and rock 'n roll.

I'm currently looking for a good hospital rpg.
*nods*
I'm on an ER trip ATM, and would like to join a good hospital rp... Maybe I'll post in the requesting rpgs section...
To be honest, though, I'd play most of those genres at least once.
Demon Child - September 23, 2007 02:53 PM (GMT)
I prefer "fantasy" related role plays.
I am just too SICK and TIRED of real life.
Look, I go to school, I DON'T want to role play SCHOOL.
*spazzes*

Okay, I choose some sort of twisted real life, as in something which would never happen. IE: a deserted island RP. I've been looking for one of those for awhile.
And I would also like to see a zombie RP. Yeah, that would be neat.
Suki Maioh - September 28, 2007 06:29 PM (GMT)
Usually I'm more of... mix fantasy/sci-fi/crime all in one. And sometimes, that ends up with a bit of terribly corrupted politics. Haha
Darth, my boyfriend would love you; he's a zed nut.

Considering all my best characters are for fantasy rpgs... ;) I really love the fantasy/mythological side of things, there's just so much room for interpretation and storylines... -dreamy sigh-

I've always loved small town RPs... regardless of genre. Perhaps it's because I come from one myself, but the middle-of-nowhere, no help available sort of idea gets all sorts of plot ideas running through my mind. There's such a possibility of inter-connection between characters as well, and there's been a character in mind - a girl, of about seven I'd say - who's the little cretin child running about the town.. she's hung around my head for a while, I haven't really managed to get her out yet.
I'm not really sure what to put, cause it doesn't necessarily have to be real life - muder/mystery is always good, but then you've also got your mysterious 'not your ordinary town' plotlines, I'dno... I suppose it's more the possibilities the setting offers that gets me..
Did I make any sense at all?
Valdimore - December 16, 2007 10:36 PM (GMT)

Hmmm...I'm actually in a high school rp mood, but something outside to US.
Panda - April 2, 2008 10:58 PM (GMT)
I haven't gotten any in a while. I'm geared up for some erotica, man! Plus, I haven't written it in aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaages. Erotica is awesome. Yeah! WOO!
>>;;
Done being crazy lady, but yeah. Those are my feelings right this instant. I want me some porn. Don't you love when I overshare? XD
Rhi-Rhi - April 2, 2008 10:59 PM (GMT)
*cracks up and pats Panda consolingly* I know the feeling all too well. *shifty eyes*
Bahahaha! xDD *runs away*
SmathNa - April 2, 2008 11:02 PM (GMT)
I voted criminals/mafia (and I would have voted violence and fantasy, too, but it only let me pick one) but what I REALLY want is Terry Pratchett.
So I am going to make one.
*trots off* Ankh-Morpork, here we come!
ultimatex - April 2, 2008 11:29 PM (GMT)
Violence/Brutality/Macabre/Dark/Horror + Erotica
Would be nice -coughs- I am not insane i promise.
Lady Hikari - April 14, 2008 08:41 PM (GMT)
I love the supernatural stuff. Demons and Angels mostly. My main character, Hikari, is a Shadow Demoness. >> But then again, I do enjoy a bit of Sci-fi and I'm in love with my gang/social website right now. <3
Ëmbrosius - April 21, 2008 09:09 PM (GMT)
I like to mix them up. Like one where you can rp as a Human, Animal, or Mythical Creature.
vheissu - April 22, 2008 04:50 AM (GMT)
I chose real life...I love high school rpgs for some reason....but I should have voted for crime and mafia...oh well! =] real life, even the simplest of conflicts, makes for good rpg ideas!

I like fantasy and sci-fi. I do movie/book/etc-based RPs, but ONLY if we do not and cannot use canon characters - our general approach is "We use the setting, and we do not interfere with the canon storyline". Because there IS more in the universe then what you see happening in the movies or books or show or whatever!
I also like the World of Darkness setting, and my favorite game we're playing at the moment (Technocracy, an offshoot of Mage: The Ascension) is in that. It's basically modern-day, but everything's a bit darker, a bit grittier, and there's of course magic and the supernatural and all that.
Personally I don't like erotica in games. It doesn't lend itself well to what I usually play, though. I have no problem with violence in games though torture itself creeps me out a bit. And I love when you bring in psychological elements to a game, though sometimes they can make things a bit much. Like in a recent game, I discovered that I have a problem with the concept of mind control. But in our Techno game right now, it's all being done as a flashback of a mission, and it's drawing off of the psychological phenomenon that a group will always have slightly different recollections of an event, so it's fun noting all the discrepancies of what's going on and trying to figure out whose view a certain post (from the GM) is primarily from.
