Title: Why 15 Posts?
ZaneStriker - July 3, 2007 08:46 AM (GMT)
Just wondering, why exactly do we need to have 15 quality posts before we are allowed to advertise here? I mean I understand that you may be trying to weed out the bots and non-serious boards, but it does seem like a rather large number of posts.

We require 15 posts because we are not 'only' an advertising board. And with those 15 posts, we want members to understand this. We have a lot more to offer next to the advertising, you can find affiliates, find staff members, discuss forum management, look for other RPG's (or post in those threads), you can talk about a variaty of subjects or showcase your graphics or writing.
As you can see, if you participate in everything, in no time you'll have 50 posts instead of 15.
15 posts is also to make the hit and runner members less. We don't like hit and run members. Nobody does.

Okay then, that's fair. Thank you for taking the time to reply to my question.

yep and i like it. If it wasnt for the 15 min posts i would have been a hit and runner but I actually like this for other reasons then that I can advertise here.

What exactly do you mean by quality posts though? I mean I understand fully why its 15 and that but it was just to know if all of your posts count or not.

Well you can't spam to get 15 posts. A spam post is posting useless posts, double posting, only posting one or two words. If someone spams to get 15 posts, we won't allow that person to advertise, and they have to get 30 posts.

The 15 post requirement seems fair enough anyway. I keeps people from dashing up, tagging the board, and then leaving it. Granted, I was surprised to see a limit myself, but with all you guys are offering, it makes plenty of sense. Fourteen more to go! Woo! (Kidding)

strange, i could have sworn it said 20 quality posts... the wording threw me off as well, though. i like that it weeds out the runners but i've been visiting this site regularly for a while and just never posted so when i actually had a board to advertise for, i had to post... right now it's just kind of frustrating.
