Title: Idea: 'proposals' Forum

In a proposals forum, the goal is to delcare an accomplishment you hope to make in a certain time. If you succeed, you will be rewarded, especially for BIG proposals.

Fail... well, there's no loss, but they may chastise you for making such proposals.

What? So, your board proposes to reach 100,000 posts by the end of the year and if they do, you get rewarded here for it? What would we reward someone with? And the poposals would just sit there, like, they would get an update now and again from perhaps a member of the board, but what would they be doing in the mean time?

... they could do ANYTHING in the meantime. Pehaps work on the boards layout or something. But that's irrelevant.

As for the prizes, mods/admins would decide the prize if they do so. For example, on the one you suggested, you would try to convince FIVE people to join the site, and try to add 5000 posts to it.

hm... very well, here's the proposed template:

CODE
[B]Name of Board:[/B]
[B]Link of Board:[/B]
[B]Proposal:[/B]
[B]Time limit:[/B]
[B]Attempted Wager:[/B]

But here at RPG-D with the attitude that amount of posts doesn’t really count and I don't really see the aim in this... Please explain a little more thoroughly (happy)

No, I meant what would the thread do. It would just sit there really, and that would be kind of lame. Just a bunch of open threads with proposals in them. Sure, some may amount to something, but with the going rate, a lot of boards barely seem to make the 40 member mark latley...

The basic idea is to place wagers in order to promote growth in the site. For example:

QUOTE
Name of Board: Mincarvian Legions
Link of Board: [pretend a link here]
Proposal: 500 posts
Time limit: 1 week
Attempted Wager: 3 members must join.

Then the maker just hopes sufficient people accept the wager.

I doubt it would catch on. And like he said/implied is it would cuase alot of junk topics/threads that dont do anything and it would be a waste of space.

those things are a lot of work for admins and mods... i mean, they work great on graphics forums where you challenge yourself to make graphics or code skins. but here, it's quality, not quantity.
