Title: A 'Principle' System

Developous - June 7, 2007 12:48 AM (GMT)
Sometimes a principle makes more sense than a law. In this system, those principles can be argued about on a reasonable basis.

When a principle is approved, it would dictate either an enforcing of certain laws, or grant people the right to defy laws based on the principle.

But... the principles would have precidence over the laws of the board.

In my system, they would be ranked as follows: Golden, Major, Average, Minor, and Redundant. The higher the ranking, the more impact it will have on the laws of the board.

To make the admins enforce a principle, just put it here in the Feedback forum.

Any comments/suggestions?

I like the idea. It's cool, but one question... Would your amount of posts change your rank? Or if not, what would?

What does this have to do with RPG-D if I may ask? *is confused*

I'm glad somebody asked the question. I thought I was all alone in the confusion department.

So pretty much you want to be able to decide whether or not to obey RPG-D rules?

Owh, we're going this way again, I'm not in the mood for these kinds of things. Rules are rules, and rules are there to be obeyed, not to be questioned. Because of that comment from Horse I understand your topic.

This is not a country that's leaded by a goverment. this is a simple forum, where normal rules apply which apply on almost every single board out there. And are even mostly part of the TOS.

It does not exactly change the laws.

Idea:

Basically, a list of 'Principles'. These principles, while they don't change the laws, dictate exceptions or stronger reasons for those laws.

Argument:

Almost every law has a Principle behind it. Whether it's a minor or a major one, they all can be backed up or denied thanks to a given principle.

The point is that it's often much better to enforce based on principles than laws. It gives greater justification to your system than just having the laws in the first place.

I don't think you understand my point. I'm not at all attracted to this idea. First of all were understaffed, second I don't understand at all what your trying to reach with this, third, this is my forum.
