Title: Which Of These 3 Do You See Yourself In Most?
Fablezzz - May 19, 2007 07:00 PM (GMT)
Alright. I'm thinking of making a board, but I have 3 idwas, and obviously don't want to try and run 3 boards. So I need an honest oppinion. Which sounds the best? The worst? Do they all suck?
They would all be on IF
with 2 para. limit
subplots & the whole bunch.
Even in Harry Potter or Medieval times ect. is more you style, I still need an oppinion, and these are pretty breif.
1: Chronicles of WWIII
Power-hungry for land, the United States decided to launch an assault on Canada. They start this attack by cutting off the NAFTA agreement and refusing to provide Canada with and supplies. Over a period of time, Canada runs low on recources and slowly the economy declines. Russia figures this out, and seeing as how Canada is pretty close, Russia makes an invasion attempt on Canada around the same time the US does. Angered that Russia is attempting to pull this off first, the United States attacks Russia. China sees this as a good time to attack the US, because they're planning and dividing with 2 attacks, not to mention the middle east. Canada turns to England in this tough time, and England turns their back, as they don't want to play punch for punch with Russia, China, and the United States. This also cuts off most of Canada's euopian connections.
But it's not as it would sound. This roleplay is about a canadian city, and the citizens slowly undergoing this attack, and how their lives go on.
2: (Based on Starcraft) <No name idea yet>
A race of aliens, called the Protoss, venture out into different galaxies, and find their way to our own Milky way. Seeing as Earth is the most life-supporting planet in this system, the Protoss attempt and invasion. However, being a smart race, not a "Go in and kill all" type, they do their research. They capture a variety of men, women, children, religious figures, leaders (Principles, managers, teachers,, ect.) Officers, adults, and teenagers. They bring them about their starcruiser to research what's-what. However, the humans are a scared race, and when they woke up, ussually were to frightened to speak any information, so the Protoss attempt to "befriend" the humans. This process will take many years, but they are determined. As the humans slowly get comfortable, the Protoss slowly take on the task of squeezing, bit-by-bit, information about humanity.
(No starcraft knowledge required)
3: The Steps of Congress
This one takes you to a journey to the whitehouse. Once you step inside, you look beyond the ballots, the cameras, and the big leather chairs, and learn something about the people leading the country. Their relationships, lives, and their own ideas of running the country. Taking place in Washington D.C, there is also an array of other people around, though they may not be hanging around the whitehouse, you can't deny their existance. As life in washington goes on, from the tall memorials, to the decaying liquor stores, you'll be a part of the action.
Alright, those are my ideas. Please tell me what you think..
In a constructive-critisist manor... (cool) (plug)

In my opinion, the first two sound the best to me :) The first sounds really clever, and the second one is interesting, although I would make the aliens cause the humans they stole some pain during the experiments.. Because that's the kind of sadistic rper I am XD Sorry if that doesn't help much.. But meh.

Actually, it's quite helpful. I'm supposing you'd not be alone in that oppinion, and everyone's counts.

I think I like idea numbero 2 the most. One doesn't sound very... real to me in one or another way. Three wouldn't interest me as I'm not American and I really have no clue how you Americans think and feel.
So I would go for idea 2.

LOL I'm not american either. I'd fail so hard at it, and you've got similar thinkings as I do.
(smile) Thank you, your imput is greatly valued.

Ooh the alien idea sounds very interesting. I like the sound of it, so my pick would be Numero Dos :)

Number 1: The World War II idea. Simply because I am facinated with the second world war and there are a lot of good movies about it out there. Enigma of The Enigma Code or something along those lines was a very good movie.
Hope this helped. =D

I loved Starcraft and always played Protoss, so my vote is for number 2.

I haven't played Starcraft and I don't enjoy politics in the least, so I'd have to go with the first one. I really do like the idea of a WW3 board for some reason, but as ShinLi said the premise is kind of not realistic. If you could put a more realistic spin on it or something, or make it a different country other than America that invaded Canada (I just don't ever see that happening. *shrugs* maybe cuz I'm american. ;P) or give a better reason than land-hungry, that'd be really cool.

Something like alot of Oil being suddenly found in the Yukon or something like that maybe?
I'm still looking for imput (smile)

I really like ideas 1 and 2 (though 3 could have potential, if pulled off well enough). But I agree with the others that the premise of a US-Canada war seems a little iffy, at least on the basis of the US being "land-hungry". If you want to follow through with that idea, my recommendation would be to do some research on the "lead-ups" to other major wars (especially WWI/II) to see what might cause a conflict to break out. You do have a challenge in choosing the US and Canada to duke it out. They're two of the world's closest trading partners and have had good relations for well over a hundred years. The respective governments can't even implement passport requirements for crossing the border, for goodness sake, let alone declare war on each other ;) But anything's possible, and there's no such thing as "friends" between nations.
