I think I'm going to attempt to make a site tonight, but I want to see what some people think I should do it on. Sure, I could do the classic boring thing, but I want something of the above; in other words, something real life / based.

When you vote could you by any chance specify something about it, like a mini plotline or era {for HP}.

Movie. I haven't seen a lot of movie rpgs except Eragon, X-Men and HP.

anyone going to post any suggestions as to what KIND of boarding school or movie / book / tv show based? xP

I voted for boarding school, but I have no idea what I could suggest for one.

I'd like to see one that I would enjoy ... but I never have started one because I couldn't think of a good enough plot. lol

yeah, I've started some, just they've never gotten off the ground.

I'm kind of leaning towards Boarding School at the moment because it's something that would be relatively easy to make xP.

Plus I don't think I'm going to have subplots and canons, so that will make the site a lot more open. ^___^

Haha, so I pretty much couldn't really decide. So I picked just about all of them. I really like the Charmed RPGs, but I also have found I like the boarding school and high school ones alot too. Hmm, it's hard to choose.

What if one was very upper class and the other one was mostly scholarship? So the rich people maybe aren't officially barred, but it's looked down upon, and the other school maybe has a rule to save the students from 'getting hurt'.

I just put the school ones.

Personally, I'm not much for any of those, but I prefer my roleplays to be based on real real life if they're going to be based on anything. Book and movie roleplays are alright, but there's so much Harry Potter out there...I didn't even bother reading the books or watching the movies; they're just too popular, in my humble opinion :p

Harry Potter is a serious guilty pleasure of mine. I enjoy joining the sites and twisting everything around in a completely acceptable way and creating a ton of drama. It amuses me to no end.

As I think I stated before, I'm currently working on a boarding school site, and it kinda has a murder-ish basis.

I love that the 'based' ones are winning, but no one's posting based on WHAT! Oh well.. maybe someone will tell me? -cries-

I'm still wondering how any of those choices are out of the ordinary, as the majority of boards listed just on RPG-D are of those types. :\

Also, shouldn't you have an idea for a board, and not just want to start a board?

See, I get a bunch of ideas and all, I just want to know what everyone else would like. I could probably come up with something for each of the things listed above, though I didn't post them.

Kind of like sampling all of the ice creams before ordering the quadrupal scoop of one you're not sure of ;)

I haven't seen any British Public school rpgs, but I suppose that's because so many players don't come from England.

It's a shame. The sexual tension that could drive a plot around Eaton or Harrow would be immense.

With regard to HP boards; because there are so many, in order for new ones to thrive the plots and ideas behind them must be fantastic. Good for the members, but not so for the admin.

I can't really say much for the canon-based boards, because films/books/TV shows I like seem to be unheard of beyond the boundaries of my bedroom, and those that people do know are done to death. What I want to know is, why has no one created a Rocky Horror Picture Show board yet?!

Harry Potter and boarding school are the ones that interest me most.

I love boarding schools because it allows a lot of freedom, especially if the school is set up somewhere out of the ordinary.

Of course I love Harry Potter but it is hard to make the board stand out and become different with how many there are.

I will not join high school boards hardly at all. Too many are too clicheish from past experience. Also it is very hard to find a literate high school rp that is not all about --- Omgs the football player is in love with the punk girl and is dumping his head cheerleader girlfriend.
