Ok I've only started working on it yesterday but I hope to open so, so can some people tell me how to improve please.

A new skin, first of all, since your current one is hard to read. (I'll edit this post later, right now I'm starving and I need food!)

That better? I'm trying to make this skin work for it is the first I have made and I'm trying to make it gothic.

Well, get rid of the blue background and get it the same colour as the black of the forums, or maybe a bit lighter. That's the main thing, because that is what makes the skin very hard to read.

Well, don't ignore it. Because then I think you are using Internet Explorer. There are loads of people out there, like me, who are using Firefox. And sometimes the same codes don't work for the both browsers. So that is why I see the blue, which I might not see in IE.

Yeah but if i can't see it, I can't really change it sorry to say, for I don't knwo what I'm looking for.

The only suggestion I can think of would be to lock your background image in place so that when someone scrolls down the forum the image does not constantly repeat itself, rather it would be stuck in place.

The next suggestion would be to put some space between the c-box and the affiliates, perhaps centering the affiliates with a text or image saying that those below are affiliates of the forum.

Hm...I don't see any blue...though I do see a lot of light gray that blends with the gray links near the top strip. May want to make that black so that you can read the Log in and Register links.

Also, totally random, but as your forum is based on dreams why not use the old wives tale about seeing a skull turning in a complete circle while in dream means you never wake up and basically die in your sleep. It is a freaky thing my grandmother believes in and is just random. Heh.

Sweet thanks for the idea...but their always a but, does any one know how to lock a image in place because I've wanted to do it for a long time but I never cna find a way to do it lol

And I didn't mean to leave my taskbar in that... oh well. :rolleyes: It's probably just a hex code Firefox doesn't like, anyways, so you might just want to fix that. If you're having problems (since you can't tell when it is/isn't blue) I'll be happy to try and fix it for you, but I'd need your skin code, so that might not be an option.

Aside from that, I think some of the text might need making a bit lighter-- more specifically the text on the foum descriptions. They're a little hard to read as they are, but just a bit lighter and they might be a bit better, I think.

EDIT: What do you mean by 'lock an image in place'? :unsure:

Oh! The background? It's just something extra you add in the image code; one sec and I'll go look.

I'll go set up a test board and see if I can sort the blue out on the skin, too... It gives me an excuse to put the homework off a bit longer, haha. ;D

Edit, just add bgproperties="fixed" into the line of code for your image, so like:

But the leftmargin, topmargin and all that isn't really needed... just add it into whatever you have. ^_^

This looks so much better without the blue ^_^. One thing I did notice, get rid of that blue navigation marker ;).

I also find the text in the descriptions/cbox very hard to read. Maybe pick a bit of a lighter colour for the text so it stands out a bit more. Otherwise the skin and stuff look great ^_^

Hmm, possibly... using a spellchecker just to fix up a few things could help. Perhaps adding a bit more description to the story might help? It's not bad, but if you feel you want to improve it--asking Andy to rewrite it might be a good idea. (He seems to be good at doing that, is all. :P) Here's a spellchecked version if you want it, anyways...

I fixed up a few grammar mistakes there too, but not all: some of them seemed to flow better as they were, whether they were correct or not. ;) You might want to consider putting a line spacing between paragraphs too, as most people prefer it that way, but it’s up to you. :) If you want Andy to expand what you have and go through it for you, his topic is here.

I can go over the rules with the spellchecker for you as well, if you want, but I’d need the code – there’s not much point in just copying what you’ve got because you’d lose all the bold effects and such. :P Here’s a spellchecked copy of ‘What is Argos’, though. :)

I really like the idea you have going, actually… although I’m not sure how the ‘story’ fits in with everything, as it seems to be more to do with one character than a plot on the whole—although the part at the end seems like it explains that up a bit. Good luck with this, Jay! :)

Firstly the plot, I think it's better if you do it in more noticable paragraphs.

The only thing I can think up for the rules is you first have rules 1 till 6 and then again start at 1, are these two specific sections? If so name the specific sections. Also I see you have taken some of the documentations, this is fine, however, I do not get why you should have the whole documentation in quote's again. You are free to use them, but your members cannot use it from your board unless they are a member here.

Thanks for noticing those thing's. The rules had been broken up into two parts but I just coloured them black instead of white because I'm stupid and on the documentation I'm not aload it on my site right?

Yeh, that documentation is written by Andy. There is no need for that Documentation Code in there, because if your members want to use it, they have to sign up here and then get the code. The documentation itself is allowed, only the documentation code isn't neccesary there, the documentation code here in the documentations is so you members can easily copy and paste it to your own boards.
