It sounds good to me, and I definately can see the KOTOR influence in the story. I think a lot of pseudo Star Wars fans probably haven't played the games, so don't know that part of the story.

The problems you are getting in attracting members may have nothing to do with plot though. What host and forum software are you using? Are you advertising in places where people prefer that host? Are you advertising at Star Wars sites and myspace groups? Do you have a nice skin that fits the theme?

I for one have been looking for a KOTOR themed RP site for a while. I simply adored the games, and can say I am more of a KOTOR fan than a Star Wars fan. It just seemed to have such a more epic story than George Lucas gave us. Thus, I wanted to continue the great saga Bioware and Obsidian had given us.

Unfortunately, I found none. But, from what I've seen, your site seems to be the answer to my prayers.

Thank you, I wanted to make an emphasis on the fact that the game really did change the galaxy, negatively I might add, but I didn't want to make the game's storyline too overbearing, as in, everyone will be focused more on the game, than the actual storyline.

But the thing is, is that I haven't even begun to advertise. My questions started coming up during the site's construction, and made me start thinking, should I finish this site, even if I have a dedicated, well educated staff, and a couple skilled role players, would that be enough to hold the site up, and draw more people to it?

Personally, I think the skin matches the overall theme of, well, the sunless dawn. I didn't want it too dark, or like, epic dark, but its smooth, and goes well with the coloring. IF will always be the boards I use, and it makes it easier to advertise on other IF boards, because people will be familiar with the layout and whatnot.

Yes, I believed that overall, the games were far better than the movies, as they provided more depth to the underlying philosophies of good and evil, and dealt with characters who I think are more easier too understand, and easier to see their personal struggles.

But yeah, sounds like you're in the same boat as I am, or were. I'll have the site up before Saturday, fully fleshed out and ready to go, so I hope to see you there some time.

I think the site is a good idea, and I would join it if you made it. I don't really have any particular suggestions on what you can do with it, since everything seems to have been covered previously. So I'm just posting here to give you a bit more incentive to make your site. Be sure to let us know when it is done (smile) .

EDIT: Or is it already done? I just realized that in your previous post you said it'd be done before Saturday, which is tomorrow. Got an advertisement ready to post in the directory? Or did you already post it?

I'm just working on the Planet Descriptions, and possibly might add faction forums, just so people have a place to talk rather than going to a random planet. The link will be up soon, and the site shall be done with a couple hours, so yeah, just about there.

Good to know. I am poised to pay it a visit. And so begins the race to see who will be member #2!

I would probably join when it was ready. I ran a tabletop game of star wars using the d20 system that was my idea of what KOTOR 3 would be. I've been looking for a roleplay experience comparable to that but in online RP form for a while.
