What is a sister site? I've seen a few sites that said they have a "Sister Site" and then it gave a link to another board. Well, then I guess all affiliates or links are Sister Sites, aren't they?
Well no, affiliates are affiliates. But this isn't really a question about RPG-D, but I'll let it here anyway.
A sister site is mostly a site made by the same person, mostly with the same genre. It could also be that two forum admins decided to join forces and decided their sites to be sister sites.
I once had four forums, all we're apart of one another, of the same concept, but they were four different forums. The general forum was called 'TriwizardsDreamRP', the three other forums ,Hogwarts, Beauxbatons and DrumstrangsDreamRP. Those four we're all sister sites because they were owned by me, and were apart of the same concept.
Once I also had an idea to start RPG-D onto proboards, if that would've happened, the PB board would've been a sister site of RPG-D and vica-versa.
I hope with the examples it makes it a bit easier to understand. If anyone has a better/different explanation, feel free to post here.
Shin Li explained it well, but if you're still confused . . . sister sites are boards that are similar to "elite" affiliates. There's generally only one sister site per board, though there are exceptions as mentioned previously. Also, people use sister sites to expand the RPGs and gain more members.
Thank you both so much for the info. It really clears things up.
