Title: City Map For An RPG, Need Feedback
ShinLi - February 18, 2007 05:24 PM (GMT)
Well I'm currently working on a new RPG. It'll be a The Tribe based RPG. Now I came up with the idea to make a city map where the RPG will be set in. This is both an addition to the RPG, but also a easy way for members to know how the city looks like (from above) and it's surroundings.
So I wanna now, is this a good idea? Would it be beneficial, or would it be a waste of time to try and create a map of a fictional city?
Thanks for the feedback ^-^.

A map of a place is good . It's good becuase then people know what the world looks like. They can positively say "I've just come from X, it's just south of here." and know it's true becuase your map says it is.
That's my 2 cents.

I don't see why it wouldn't be :) Members don't absolutely have to look at it, and if you like doing such things it could be great fun, making a map for it :) Everybody wins (happy)

The Tribe! I used to watch that and I remembered I loved it XD So being a fellow once Triber watcher, I would say a map would be very beneficial to the players. Especially with all the areas that would be needed with the rpg.

Thanks, I just wasn't sure if it was a good idea or not. But yeh, for The Tribe, it would be a good idea. And the map not only shows the locations, but it can also point out which section is in hands of which tribe.
Cool . *random*

I'm always a big fan of maps. Some people prefer to actually write out where everything is related to each other, but that's overwhelming, especially if you just need to refresh your memory or grab a quick glance.

Definitely. I've RPed on countless boards where I (and many other members) have had no idea where anything was due to bad explanation and lack of maps. A map is a great idea.

I think Maps are a win. Graphic references help a lot when you RP, they help you avoid embarrasing errors and make you feel like the RP is being loved. And if an RP is being loved, you are more likely to join or stay. (happy)

Lol. Yes. Maps are a thumbs up :)
By the way, quick questions, what exactly is The Tribe. I've gleaned that it's a television show, but Google isn't helping me much ^^

Try wikipedia ^^, you can find a good article about The Tribe there ^_^. I also made some progress in the city it'll be set in, so in the vacation I think I'm going to create the map, or at least start when I got some free time on my hands in the coming week.
*gets excited again*.
Thanks all for the feedback ^^.
