Yes, there is. :) You can go to My Controls -> PM Buddies/Block List and add your contacts there.

And if you click on a member name and it brings you to their member profile, there's a link called 'Add to contact list' under their name. If you click that they get added to your friends list too, then you added them without having to type in their name and all ^^.
