Okay so some members of my site, Abaddon City, and I have been joking about this idea for a while now. Picture this..

Your character is a toddler, but you can still choose a face claim. For images, you use the face of your playby pasted messily over the face of a toddlers head, and you continue to use the childs body.

It would take place in a playground, where their imaginations have run rampant. They believe they are vampires, shifters, and humans. In their imaginary world, the playground is a city (Was going to be a different version of Abaddon, so we referred to it as Sandbox AC) where they play out the life of adults in a world where vamps and shifters are socially accepted. Of course, they wouldn't have weapons, and their tools would all be those commonly found in the hands of a child (Bottle, juice box, etc) but they pretend to use them as other things (Bottle= gun for example, or juice box = grenade). It would have very few rules, and mostly just a place for epople to have a good time.

Think this would attract anyone? Has this idea already been used?

I think it could be fun. It'd definitely be one of those more casual, laid-back, light-hearted sorts of sites, I'm sure. But those are a great way for people to just relax and have a good time without worrying about the laws of reality. xD

It'd be fun if you had a "GM" account for the Adults, and they'd sometimes come in and intervene, like so:

Johnny: HAH. THE SCEPTER OF LIFE IS MINE.
Hailey: Nooooooo! We're DOOMED. *wails*
Ashley the Daycare Worker: *takes plastic shovel/"scepter of life" away* If you can't share, then no one can have it.
Johnny and Hailey: .... -_____-;

I like the idea for a casual, relaxed RP - especially with an "adult" GM account. XD That is just awesome.

I would probably be interested, as long as the atmosphere was laid-back and PBs weren't required. It would probably be more challenging for people to RP than at first glance, though - you'd want to try to break things down into the simple level of toddlers. Introducing guns and grenades on a more realistic scale would be a little disturbing - we call specialists when you've got kids like that on your hands - but if you kept it light, like kids already RP...

Timmy: BOOM BOOM! I shot you dead!
Sammy: NO! I have super-armor on and you can't hit me!
Timmy: Then I shoot you with super-armor bullets!
Sammy: I'm flying away, too late!
Susie: Hey! You're in my tea-party! You're both rabbits.

Plus, kidlet attention spans are so short. They would probably hop between subjects very quickly. Cookies and other snacks would be horded to be handed out as gifts, taken away by the more bossy kids, or given as tribute to the leader (I've seen it all dealing with the toddler-level tykes).

Also, if you had this at a preschool, there would be ample opportunity to do "events" like Drawing Time or Reading Time or Nap Time and so on... A lot of preschools have special "days" where they focus on one letter or book or color and integrate the subject into all sorts of activities.

Relaxed, casual, it could be a lot of fun...

There could be forums for "other places," as well. Like, say, Susie's and Bobby's parents are friends, so they get to have play-dates. Or Jo, Manny, Lucy, and Georgie all live on the same block... and stuff. =D

This could definitely be a lot of fun. You could have OOC contests for the Drawing Time, for people to draw their best stick-figure scenes 'n stuff. xD

With something like this, you'd have to have some sort of thread/page to keep track of hilarious quotes and scenes. I can imagine things getting pretty silly and comical. <3

That sounds really cute! I don't know if this is what you had in mind, but I can just imagine using a picture of Godzilla as my play-by, and have my rugrat go around pretending to be Godzilla... errr... breathing on other kids, I guess.

but, i think you should allow the toddlers to cast their parents so, adults can't come on the site unless they are needed by a toddler.

for example: If Kim is a toddler and her father died she could request her mother. then the mother would be able to become friends with Tommy's parents and Tommy and Kim could then have playdates.

idk, it sounds like the site could have a lot of potential.

I could definitely see that as an AU add-on to an RPG for funzies. But as a standalone game? I honestly don't really see it lasting longer than a week or two. xD A lot of people have made joke/crack/silly RPGs, and they've always died after a week or two, once the novelty's worn off and the lulz have been had.

So as an add-on to a pre-existing game? I can sure see it! As a site of its own? I don't see it lasting long. ^^;

Though, I do think it was mentioned that the original idea started as an add-on to Abaddon? The Sandbox AC? xD

Anyway, either way, I don't think it'd turn into anything serious. But it'd be fun/entertaining, for however long it lasts. <3

I was going to say the same thing. Back on my old Shin Megami Tensei/Persona board, we had a kindergarten AU roleplay that was loads of fun. My character, Takaya, always has his revolver with him, but in kindergarten, he had a water pistol instead.

Whoa excellent responses guys, and honestly dead on for nearly the exact discussion with my members. We also thought that it wouldn't last long- it would probably take longer to create, more effort would b put in to creating it, then being played on it. After the initial laughs were had, it would get ignored, and pushed aside.

Still cant help but imagine it at play, oh boy to be a toddler again.. super-armor is just way too close to home! Lol!

I actually love to play young child characters, they are some of my favourite kinds of characters to play. That said, if it's more for amusement, it's best to try it on a trial run in your forum games section if there is one. Or if you have a miscellaneous roleplaying board. Those are great for people to give something a whirl and then later develop it more if it proves itself.

Why not do it here in the RP forums?

Maybe create a separate forum or category on your board for it? That way, it's less work, and it'll be easier to clean up the mess once people stop playing with it; you could just archive the topics, and delete the forums for it altogether.

Another idea could be a 'Toddler Cbox', which would just be like an IC cbox, but instead the characters are to be toddlers when they post in it.

Ah. Love the idea. You should put it as an addon to your game. But it makes me laugh to think of it. Children characters are the best, their imaginations are amazing, it would be great. Don't think their are any boundaries on what a child can think of. My little brother's favourite game was to race around the living room escaping crocodiles (cushions or objects on the floor) and hide in the boats (sofas and chairs). Kids can see anything they want in even the most boring of objects.

Sooo wanna do this on my site. ALL the characters in child form for a few days. Would amuse me greatly. :p

But anyway. All of a sudden I actually miss the Rugrats! xD
