Hey there, Jennalyn! I've got two to toss at you. Both, in some way, suit your (
very loose >.>) guidelines, though might not be precisely what you're looking for.
GENRE - Corus is a medieval fantasy roleplay, while Moonlit shoves real life and Sailor Moon into a nice little package; either element can be used in the actual playing.
DIFFICULTY - Corus asks for 350 words a post, Moonlit 250.
CREATURES - Corus is strictly humans-only, though one may elect to use one of three types of magic. Moonlit is primarily humans, with (expendable) monster-y characters available as well.
RATING - Both are PG-13 with higher content marked.
ACTIVITY - Corus has been running for over two years now, and as such has managed a community of forty or so active players, all of whom are incredibly friendly and who bring their own flare to roleplay. Moonlit is considerably newer (a month or so), and while not strictly
bustling, has enough going on to ensure it won't drop off the face of the internet.
ON FANDOMS - Moonlit is Sailor Moon; unless you ignore most things and just have an oblivious human running around, there's not really any getting around that XD Corus, however, is a bit less cut and dry - while we
are based on books (Tamora Pierce's Tortall universe), we have had members - even staff - who had never touched one of the things, and still managed to get on without trouble.
...If a post aggravates me, I really do think that's
my issue, not yours XD
MOONLIT MELODIES
- - -
THIRD TIME’S THE CHARM
Time after time, the Dark Kingdom has sought conquest, control. Time after time, these efforts have been thwarted by those of the moon, first during the Silver Millennium and again, much more recently, in 20th century Tokyo. Now in a new setting, a weakened, but
never yielding, Queen Metallia seeks to reawaken those who have served her so loyally in the past, and to strike out in another attempt to grasp what has so long been desired. With the Sailor Senshi every bit as dormant as the denizens of the Dark Kingdom, time is in the essence—if quick enough, Metallia might just see her dreams come to pass before Sailor Moon can so much as contemplate her tiara.
LONDON CALLING
It’s been just over a decade since Luna and Artemis last set paws to soil—and, if their new
human forms are anything to go by, it will be some time more. Now awakened in London, England, the former felines know only two things: trouble is coming, and they
must find and awaken the new senshi before whatever evil is coming becomes fully realized. Though the search is complicated by adjustments to their new lives—and lamenting the losses of those previous—failure for these mentors is
not an option, not with life as we know it at stake.
IT’S THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT
(AND I FEEL FINE)
Even with all the impending chaos approaching, the people of London are at their ease, leading their lives completely unaware of the looming danger. Only time can say how long this blissful ignorance can carry on, and only destiny will unveil the fates of each and every human walking upon the earth.
...and then the university blew up. Well, part of it, anyways. After a magical explosion demolished a portion of Corus’ Royal University, historians and mages alike were delighted to find ruins from the old Thanic empire buried beneath the ground. Further investigation, however, requires digging into the city itself—an idea that the rest of the community is not particularly thrilled about. Between this and a rival gang causing trouble for the Rogue, it’s no wonder that many of the civilians are more on edge than usual.
Children have no place in power. While not technically a child, there are many in Barzun, particularly of the older generation, who feel that King Jeremías is not fit to rule, between his inexperience and the fact that he is systemically replacing the older officials with his closest friends. The king, however, is distracted by whatever troubles might be brewing within by pains from outside of his kingdom—after a rash of murders and attempted murders on international officials, Their Majesties are left scrambling to placate the foreign rulers.
Political stability is a thing of the past. Though the people of Carthak, under the guidance of Djimon Akhtar, were able to overthrow the Imperial Family, the priest’s death soon after left a whole that his son is now working to mend. Unfortunately, members of the nobility, alleged illegitimate sons of the former emperor, and some within the temple of the Hag itself are picking away at the threads, hoping to unravel the tapestry that Djimon so carefully wove, in order to get a piece of the action for themselves.
Time brings changes, but life will always go on in
