Title: Application Fields: Weapons, Items, Magic, Etc
Description: Any ideas?

I'm in the middle of writing up the application sheet forms for my FFVIII RPG, and I'm stuck at the moment for all threre forms: SeeD/student, instructor/teacher, and civilian.

How should the weapon, armour, accessory, items and magic fields be written?

I'm somewhat new to the FFVIII rp-world, so I don't really have an idea on what to write so it'll be 'fun' to fill out, isn't too intimdating or complex.

At the moment, it's just:

Weapon: (name | type | strength & weakness)
Armour: (name | type | strength & weakness )

It looks ...bland, to me, and not very interesting. =( My co-admin has absolutely no idea on how to display it, either.

Maybe you could add-in things like weapon/armor history, its origin, how it got in the character's hands, etcetera? I've never played FF8, so I'm not all that much help, sorry. :p I think you should try adding in something that would tie the item to the character on the application form. Or, maybe a description field for the weapon, like for its appearance and the like. Maybe that'll help you out. :)

I think that the way you have it, deflagrare, isn't bad. But then again, like Mortal, I am not a FF8 player.

I like Mortal's idea =D The 'how the item got into the character's possession' and such is very good, because then it'd help explain WHY the character chose to become a gunblader, or whatever. Instead of just writing: <custom weapon name>, gunblade, +extra damage.

Since the SeeDs (military cadets-in-training/students) can choose whatever weapon they wish, and so far in the game's canon equipment, it included: guns, cross-bows, gunblades, whips, gloves/fists, nunchucks (typo), and some others.

Thanks!
