I've got three for you. The first one (Hogwarts: The Extreme) has been around for ages, but it was quiet for a very, very long time and we're just starting it up again. There's lots of room for plot involvement and such.
The second one (Consuming Darkness) is really new, just opened this week.
The third one (Kingdom Come) also very new, and still tons of canons open.
The first two of them are Harry Potter-verse, based in the future (the second has children of the canons, the first doesn't... though there are some canon-ish ones to choose from). The third is still Harry Potter-verse, but based in the Marauder's Era.
It's now in the early 2000's, and Voldemort is far gone, as is Harry Potter and many of the other beloved characters involved in the war. After over ten years without a leader, the dark side of magic is stirring... beginning to fight to take back the place of power it once held.
The problem? Not all of dark magic agrees on the correct course of action in taking this stand, causing wars among themselves. With several different smaller groups beginning to take action , at first against good magic, but soon against each other - trying to prove that one is better than the other - and all good magic trapped in the middle of an idealistic battle, kidnapping and murder are not only methods of attaining goals... but ways of survival for these groups.
And now, after six years of this... someone has targeted Hogwarts.
Where do you fit in?
Hogwarts the Extreme is a Harry Potter based roleplay board. We are accepting students in years five through seven, and all adult positions. Original and canon-esque characters available. Welcoming any and all experienced (and even unexperienced!) roleplayers!
Currently auditioning for characters with key involvement to the plot!
[Hogwarts : The Extreme]
Night. The time of day that no one seems to like being in. The surrounding darkness that seems to hide things that no one can see till it's too late, till they can't turn back.
Running. An instinct that happens when said thing comes after them in a desire to kill them.
Fear. something that runs through everyone's veins whether they pretend to be fearless. There is always that one thing that may frighten them to no end and haunt them till they die. Muggles don't believe in the 'make-believe', but Wizards do. They know of werewolves and vampires and many of the various creatures that could cause them harm. However, what if they found out there was a creature they never knew about? A creature they never had researched, recorded, or even seen? Normally, wizards know what to expect with the other creatures of the night; how to defend themselves, how to ward the darkness away, how to make fear vanish. However, add the twist that they don't even know what it is... or what or whom it could even be. How can they defend themselves against that? Many thought that there was no creature they had yet to see or research...
... Apparently they are going to be proven wrong...
DAILY PROPHETJune 23, 2016
Gladus Nettlebore, a witch found by her son at the edge of the woods near her home. She was announced dead upon finding her and when Aurors got to the scene they were trying to confirm what had possibly killed her. Werewolves were instantly rules out seeing as no bite marks had been found on her body, but scratches of various sizes were found. No bites were found to have proven to Vampires being the cause, and if it was she wouldn't have been there near the forest. Death by basilisk was ruled out as well, and other various dangerous creatures as well. Apparently, the Ministry doesn't even know her cause of death and it makes us question as to whether the Ministry is even capable of even solving this mystery. And it makes us question as to whether they are competant enough to even find out whether it was a murder or natural causes.
The look of fear was found on her face with her widened eyes, smallen pupils, and gaping mouth imitating a scream was the first horrid thing noticed by her son and it is no clue what she saw at the time of death. One would think she was just scared to death, but the scratches indicated on her body indicated something more. And if it was the scrathes plus she was scared to death, one would wonder what made her so scared she died in the first place. Guessing only time will tell and hopefully the Ministry will find some answers. However, the return of You-Know-Who has been totally crossed off the list seeing as there was no Dark Mark present and the Ministry believes this was only a one time thing. Answers will come, though, to the family who has to bear the grief of a funeral.
The funeral will be held...
(the article continues on with the place of funeral, time, etc and even quotes given by family members and their suspicions. However, it isn't like they're believed...)End ArticleThe Forbidden Forest. A forest names exactly that for a reason: it is forbidden to the students of Hogwarts due to the dangers the forest hides in it's impenetrable darkness. Hardly any sunlight comes into the forest due to the dense amount of trees and getting lost isn't a feat proved difficult. Over the years, many students have tresspassed into this forest for detentions, lessons, or just for their enjoyment. Fear was never an option with them and thought that one you have faced this forest then nothing else could do much concerning fear. However, what if something happened that made the students fear the sunsetting every late afternoon, fear the coming of the darkness and shadows the moon casts on the earth? What if something actually made them fear the darkness and the dangers that are held inside of it? Since, the mysterious death of a student on the school grounds happened at the beginning of term, the staff of Hogwarts had proposed new rules, that are easily enforced. No venturing onto the grounds after sunset and no nearing the forbidden forest at all costs. Anywhere the darkness lives, lives the reason for the death.
However... What if the place they deemed as safe wasn't safe anymore? What if... what if the danger was right under their noses?
Will they all be able to survive the
Consuming Darkness?
The Board: Kingdom Come is a brand new Marauders Era RPG looking for role-players of intermediate to advanced role-playing skill. Having just opened, we’re looking for LOTS of canon characters! These include the universal favorites: James Potter and Sirius Black!
The Plot:Hold my head inside your hands
I need someone who understands
I need someone, someone who hears
For you I’ve waited all these years
For you I’d wait till Kingdom Come
Until my day, my day is done
And say you'll come and set me free
Just say you'll wait, you'll wait for me The year is 1976. It's the year of the Winter Olympics in Austria. The year Apple Computer was formed. The year the Ramones released their first self-titled album. But that's all in the Muggle world. The wizarding folk have events of their own to worry about to really pay attention to what the Muggles are up to. Their key worry is, of course, the Dark Lord Voldemort, who started out as a mere rumor, but has since grown to become a terror. He is gatherin supporters left and right, and his closest supporters have begun to call themselves the Death Eaters. Even witches and wizards who are not part of the Death Eaters have been forced to do the Dark Lord's bidding through the Imperius Curse, causing mass chaos and mayhem. Muggles are being attacked and tortured and the giants have long since rallied to Voldemort's cause. The head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, Bartemius Crouch, doesn't know what to do aside from authorizing the Aurors to use any means necessary to ward off the Death Eaters.
Amidst all the mayhem, Hogwarts remains one of the safest places in the Wizarding World. Lord Voldemort dares not touch the students while Dumbledore is watching over them, so the turmoil of the outside world are little worry to the students of Hogwarts. They go about their business, attending classes and interacting with one another as usual. But some of the older students, including the infamous Marauders, are becoming restless. They are aware of what is happening beyond the walls of Hogwarts and find themselves wishing they could do something about it all.
There are whispers that Lord Voldemort has begun recruiting students within the walls of Hogwarts. The sons and daughters of his closest and most loyal Death Eaters have had the Dark Mark branded into their skin and have sworn to carry out the Dark Lord's wishes. The knowledge of the Dark Arts and the promise of power has lured them into the ranks of the Death Eaters and now, Lord Voldemort plans on tearing Hogwarts apart from the inside out.
But in the meantime, the summer is ending and the students seemed more concerned with finishing up the last bit of summer homework they have remaining. What the Muggles refer to as the UK heat wave of 1976 is reaching its peak while the Ministry of Magic is frantically running around, trying to apprehend the Death Eaters responsible for it. The official report is that some sort of modified drought charm is being used, but there are rumors that a dragon is involved and the Ministry is simply covering up that bit of information to subdue the confusion. The lines for ice cream and cold treats are getting longer as the summer reaches its end and some students seem even reluctant to leave their cool homes to go to Diagon Alley for the ritual supply shopping.
