Title: Tattoos

Horsecrzy721 - January 22, 2007 10:06 PM (GMT)
I personally really like the look of a tattoo if it is done well and well placed. Some may look good on paper but it really depends on the place that you get it that determines the entire image of it. I may not like needles too much, but I do want one. I think one will be good enough for me, but for now, I am 16 and under my Mother's house. Not that she can object all that much though because she recently got her first, so I may use that if I want to get mine a mite early. Hehe.

So how bout it? Do you have one? If so how many? And care to describe? If you dont have one, but want one, describe what you might want!

Roswenth - January 22, 2007 11:05 PM (GMT)
I wouldn't mind having one, but I have such a short attention span that by the next week I'd want something different. Probably need to stick with henna...

Darth Makar - January 22, 2007 11:09 PM (GMT)
I do not currently have a tattoo, but I am not running out to get one because I wouldn't know where to have it done. (On my skin, that is.) I don't want something that would stretch if I were to gain weight (like pregnancy), but I don't want anything "slutty". I don't want to jump into something this permanent without thinking through all of the options.

Surrender - January 23, 2007 02:15 AM (GMT)
I currently have 2 tattoos. Both are on my ankles and both are relatively small. One is a small heart, the other is the word love. I'll be the first to admit that they were done at home by a friend when we were bored. I really want two more though and I know what they are:
1. an aztec sun which will be placed on my forearm.
2. my zodiac sign done in asian lettering on the back of my neck.

Horsecrzy721 - January 23, 2007 03:51 AM (GMT)
o.O Like a prision tattoo? Sorry, that's immediatley what my mind jumped to. How exactly did you do that??

Oh! I forgot to mention what I might want. I really love the Ankh symbol, so I was thinking that with a vine of roses running up it would look cool. I would probably get it on my lower calf/anke area.

Scura - January 23, 2007 08:12 PM (GMT)
I have nine tattoos, and I love them all.

For people that don't want their tattoo's stretching under bodily changes (Darth Makar ;)) I could suggest wrists (Can look tacky), ankles (not -always- nice, but if done right they look really nice) and feet, or shoulderblades. The skin on your back and shoulderblades hardly ever moves/changes.

My own tatts are mostly on my back (A tigercub and my name in Aramaic at the small of my back, a fairy on each shoulder, a small heart on my spine and "aéquitas" and "Veritas" under each fairy respectively. I also have a flower on one wrist and "siren" on the other.

o_O lots

ombrel - January 26, 2007 07:08 PM (GMT)
I am currently working on my first tattoo;

Two large angel wings ripping out of my spine... all black and grey.

I'm planning to get a small, symbolic one on my eighteenth birthday, because then my parents, who have absolutely forbidden it, can't do anything about it. I'm still undecided as to what it will be, but it's better that I don't decide on anything until I'm closer to the date because by then, my interests will have changed slightly.

Secret Lily - February 13, 2007 09:54 PM (GMT)
I want to get one tattoo. Maybe two if I'm brave enough. I like really subtle, tasteful tattoos.

dread pirate kurt - March 5, 2007 01:26 AM (GMT)
I have Tasslehoff Burrfoot (from Dragonlance) on my right ankle.

xmorbidxxdreamsx - March 10, 2007 06:47 PM (GMT)
I haven't got any yet, but I plan on getting a few. My first one I'm getting probably next month, and will have something to do with stars. I might have my brother sketch something out for me, he's really good at drawing and I think it would be nicer to have one of my brother's creations on my body rather than some strangers. :p

DarkSongstress - March 10, 2007 11:54 PM (GMT)
I'm still debating on whether I want to get a tattoo right now. Plus I have the added weight to think about how my parents would react and since I'm still techincally living at home during holidays and summers and having help from my parents to pay for college, I don't really want to rock the boat too much.

But if I were to get one, I'd want to get one like the character, Jenn from the PS2 game, Primal: http://www.gamecritics.com/feature/artgall...rimal/art01.jpg

Lusus Naturae - March 13, 2007 04:16 PM (GMT)
I have an aversion to having pointed objects inserted into my body, so tattoos are out. I do have a few interesting ideas for them, however... Ah well.

Ashe - March 13, 2007 05:55 PM (GMT)
I have one.

It's an equal arm Celtic cross done to look like an old coin (which is where I took the design from originally) and personalized with the phrase (hard to read, but intentionally so) "Existence is nothing but shadows and light."

It is primarily black, but shaded and with red highlights on the arms of the cross and the outer ring.

OnlyHappyWhenItRains - March 13, 2007 06:07 PM (GMT)
I love tattoos!!! And I don't mean like the tribals and little things that most people get. I really like the unique and artistic ones - especially visual conceptualizations of quotes.

But anyway, I'm definately not cool enough to go through that myself? lol. The only thing I've been able to muster the courage to get is an itty-bitty heart about the size of a dime on my hip. I'd like to get another one - a bluebird on my back - but I can't remember if my last one hurt or not? That and the fact the heart tattoo took about 10 minutes to do and probably wouldn't be an accurate reflection of how painful they are. lol

theblackgoddess - March 31, 2007 06:21 PM (GMT)
I have no tattoos, I like my skin pure. [odd]

ribbonss - April 3, 2007 04:10 AM (GMT)
I know I want to get a tattoo... one day. My parents would freak, though, especially my mother: I've thought about getting another ear piercing, and she nearly went ballistic on that idea. ;_; I guess that gives a clear view of what is and what's not going to be happening any time soon, lol.

Serendipity - April 3, 2007 04:20 AM (GMT)
I've got two. Both are kodoma, each one peeking around my ankles as if they were tree trunks. I like them a whole lot.

I am also planning my back piece, which don't want to mention until it's done simply to protect the originality of my idea. As far as I can tell, no one else has a similar tattoo to what I am planning.

<3

Raven123 - June 8, 2007 03:46 AM (GMT)
Gawd I want some tats, but I got to wait till am older cause the parents wont let me have any yet. Am trying to convince them to give me one as a graduation present though :D

Keira Blacktalon - June 19, 2007 01:48 AM (GMT)

Kind of a bummer to, I plan on getting a couple though. One for my pet I lost in '05, and another for my favorite gaming Tribe.

Bone Gnawers, baby. ;) Gotta' love 'em. lol XD

Carey Moffett - June 20, 2007 08:24 AM (GMT)
well, i have none currently, seeing as my parents wont let me.

in the future, both my boyfriend and i are planning on having many, many tattoos. im not sure what ill get, but 90% of them will be Christian and i think ill get by boyfriend to design them. im NOT going to get flowers or fairies or any crap like that, although my boy might get flowers, cos hes a pansy ^_^

SilentGhost - June 21, 2007 01:27 AM (GMT)
None yet. I'd probably get a Misfits logo tattooed onto my upper arm cause they're that awesome

Coines - June 22, 2007 01:11 PM (GMT)
None, and I don't think I'll ever have any because my girlfriend hates them... and she'd get a tongue piercing if I ever did, which I hate.

Keijukainen - June 22, 2007 01:20 PM (GMT)
I have two, one on either arm. Will be getting a third soon, I hope.

Theresa Crane - June 22, 2007 05:33 PM (GMT)
I want one soooooo badly! If I ever get one I want this on my lower back. user posted image

*groans* but whenever I even mention the word my husband gets all pissy. Word to the wise if you want something done do it before you get married.

gemsturr - June 22, 2007 06:08 PM (GMT)
None yet, but I'm getting one sometime in the next year. I'm 18, so it's all legal, and my mum is fine with it - my dad, I haven't told, and although I know he won't say no he won't exactly approve. But then again, he still thinks I'm seven, so that could have something to do with it. XD Anyway, yeah. I'm moving to Uni next year, and I'll be getting a tattoo whilst there.

I've already decided what I want, and worn it in henna for a while to make sure it wouldn't bother me too much. It's a salamander, about an inch and a half high, on the inside of my ankle. I wouldn't mind getting a couple of others, but they'd all be small, tasteful, and actually mean something to me.

EquestrianSociety - June 24, 2007 08:49 PM (GMT)
I have one on my shoulderblade. It's a celtic mythical creature, part horse and part serpent. I really like it, and though people say all the time that they think they hurt, I really wasn't bothered by mine. (smile)

simply_t_babii - June 25, 2007 10:28 PM (GMT)
I want two or three. I want a cross on my arm with my mother's name, her day she was born, and the day she died under it. I want a Scorpio on the small of my back and I want a microphone on my ankle.

I might end up getting more tho.

dracolover4ever - June 27, 2007 02:26 AM (GMT)
I want four to six, really small tattoos in places where I can cover them up for interveiws and important events

ombrel - July 7, 2007 04:35 AM (GMT)
Scratch my last post; I have my wings; the Ouroboros over a sillouette of the tree of life/strength & four symbols on both upper arms...

all together seperated: 11...

Morrigan - July 7, 2007 10:43 PM (GMT)
I have a dragon on my left shoulder blade. I am also planning about 4 more in the near future.

A Faerie to symbolize my daughter.
A Dragon and Tiger intertwined to symbolize my husband and self.
I'm also somewhat tempted to tattoo, Sister, Mother, Wife, Daughter on my fingers.
My fourth would be a symbol to represent my (hopefully) soon to come second child.

Little Devil Dog - July 8, 2007 12:10 AM (GMT)
I have none. I will get 4 tho ^^

Supermans.Lover - July 25, 2007 08:55 PM (GMT)
I don't have any yet, but I already know I'm getting one, maybe two in the future. The first is going to be a phoenix, where it will be I don't know yet, but I'm thinking maybe on the small of my back. The phoenix has always been my favorite animal, and it symbolizes a lot, freedom, expression. And they're so beautiful.

Dannio - August 8, 2007 02:05 PM (GMT)
I only hair 1 tattoo and its hard to describe its on the top of my right arm, i shall get a picture soon and upload it, i dont think i could go OTT and have 10 or more tattoos, max is 4 for me, but i do want another 1 on my back.

[James] - August 8, 2007 03:26 PM (GMT)
I don't have a tattoo myself. I wouldn't mind a small one on my right shoulder though. This may sound odd but do they actually hurt? I've talked to two people and one person says it doesn't hurt that much at all and the other says that he nearly passed out. Oh, and I think people with loads of tats look odd, but that is just me.

c_jai - August 18, 2007 01:17 AM (GMT)
I would like a small one too, some time in the future though. I don't need on now. Though, a lot of countries consider them satanic, criminal-ish, etc. It would ruin my plans to travel the world in the future.

She - August 18, 2007 01:55 AM (GMT)
I plan to get three:

-A tree (for too many reasons to list)
-My wedding ring (I'm engaged and have been for 2 years now)
-Deathly Hallows symbol (can you say ultra nerd?)

Fusion - October 18, 2007 03:22 AM (GMT)
I don't have one, mostly due to fear of pain and needles. However, I have been considering one lately.

phoenx.spice - November 22, 2007 07:27 PM (GMT)
I don't have any because I'm fifteen. But I know I'll be getting a star on my foot when I turn eighteen. I want a phoenix with a blue circle in the back on my right fore-arm.
I want this one too. I want half on my left wrist. But the last two are going to wait for quite a while.

Starber - March 17, 2008 10:30 PM (GMT)
I`m too chicken to get one. The pain and those evil needles (god do I hate needles).

But, I dunno if I`m going to get one. Not a big fan of tattos.
