Title: Half Full Or Half Empty?

ShinLi - January 19, 2007 10:24 PM (GMT)
Half Full?

Half Empty?

Which one do you choose?

Shawna - January 21, 2007 09:34 PM (GMT)
I would guess half full. i really don't know what your talking about but if your talking about pop or something in a glass i would rather have it full then empty.

worry_doll - January 21, 2007 10:11 PM (GMT)
I'm told I have the strangest view. Or even the "engineer's view".
Neither, the glass should be half its size. =]
I have to be difficult.

Horsecrzy721 - January 21, 2007 10:12 PM (GMT)
Ahh as you very well know, I tend to take the pessimist side of things. It's not that I don't think good can come of something, it's that I don't normally get my hopes up for things, especially if there isn't solid evidence that that thing will happen. It's more of the "I don't want to be dissapointed" approach than anything else.

Fission - January 21, 2007 10:17 PM (GMT)
It doesn't matter either way, there's still only half a glass left.

Kental-Akari - January 24, 2007 11:53 PM (GMT)
I'm usually a glass half empty person, as I would rather be surprised when something goes well than disappointed. Plus it makes more sense if it's a literal glass. Think about it- you find a random glass abandoned on a table... chances are someone was drinking out of it, thus emptying the contents. It's only half full if you're in the process of pouring liquid into the glass, but most people keep filling the glass past the half-way point, so it's half full for only a few seconds, whereas something is probably left half-drunk for longer. That reasoning has absolutely no effect on how pessimistic/optimistic I usually am and really serves no purpose, but there it is anyway.

ombrel - January 26, 2007 10:13 PM (GMT)
"It does not matter if the glass is half full or half empty; All I want to know is If I can finish it and if it is gross... Can I have a chaser with it?"

I thought my mind could not make a qoute that cool in it but it did. I am a deep pessemistic person but my mind is with my quote.

*~Dreamer~* - January 28, 2007 01:06 AM (GMT)
Half empty.

The best part about being a pessimist is you're either always right, or pleasently surprised.

Siuin - February 3, 2007 04:42 PM (GMT)

Uh... I ordered a cheese burger.....

but seriously...half full! :D

grenadejumper - February 4, 2007 05:00 AM (GMT)
I'm a pessimist, so I'd have to say half empty, even though I know I should be saying half full. Sadly, I can't help but feel there is always going to be something I want that is unattainable *sigh*

Darth Makar - February 4, 2007 07:46 AM (GMT)
I voted half empty, though this is a trick question for us realists. :p Actually, I say whatever pops into my head, which tends to be half and half. So I guess I really am a realist.

Zang - February 4, 2007 04:56 PM (GMT)
I voted half emty. The cup is more likely to be spilled than it is to be filled.

AdanaPhoenix - February 11, 2007 05:44 AM (GMT)
I've always been a pessimist, even before I knew what that whole "Half full/empty thing" meant. Back then, I chose half empty, and I do so now.

Roswenth - February 15, 2007 04:26 AM (GMT)
Oh look, Diet Coke!

*I would not even notice!*

MishMoo - February 15, 2007 02:38 PM (GMT)
I can't think about what I would say if I actually had to say if it was either. But... if the glass started full and then you drank half, I'd probably say "It's half empty now." or "It's only half full." But if you only poured half a glass, I'd say "It's half way up/half full." <-- I over analyze =).

Toni-May - February 15, 2007 06:24 PM (GMT)
Half Full baby… all the way…

emeraude - February 15, 2007 07:40 PM (GMT)
If you just filled it half-way, it's half full. If you just drank half of it, it's half-emppty. :D

Mistress 9 - February 16, 2007 12:22 AM (GMT)
I voted half-empty. I am a realist that way. Like someone said earlier, when you are a pessimist you are either always right or pleasantly surprised.

Supermans.Lover - March 6, 2007 01:18 AM (GMT)
Half-full. :) Every once in awhile I lean toward glass half-empty, but that always passes.

Mariko - March 6, 2007 06:19 AM (GMT)
I'd go with half empty. Though I rarely think about the contents of my glass, I'm usually a pessimist.

The Fallen Evincar - March 21, 2007 10:51 PM (GMT)
Half empty. :(

Everlasting Melody - June 2, 2007 06:37 PM (GMT)
I always pick half-full :D I am a very optimist type of person. All the silver lining and the only way from the bottom is up. I always think life is too short to always expect the worst.

Arda - November 24, 2007 04:03 AM (GMT)
For me, half-full. I am an eternal optimist. :)

Someone else sees it my way, haha.

Mousie - December 26, 2007 10:40 AM (GMT)
Half full... for some reason, half-empty makes me think of a glass where the bottom is empty, but the top is full..

Valdimore - December 29, 2007 04:25 AM (GMT)
I like Half Empty

Kooper - January 4, 2008 03:30 AM (GMT)
Half full. I just seem to get people on the bright side when things are going down hill.

Bane - January 6, 2008 06:40 AM (GMT)
Half empty. Because then I can fill it up again quicker than if it were half full. :)

Ha same here... Half full for me.

Exactlyy =]

I say both, depending on the situation, but usually half full. Which doesn't really add up, seeing how I'm the most pessimistic person I know. A regular ray of darkness.

Hogwarts Unleashed - January 20, 2008 05:20 PM (GMT)
I say half full. I've always had that "hopeful" outlook on life that if it's half empty, then you life is half empty but if it;s half full then life is fuller. I don't really know how to explain it in words... My mind is a very confusing place and taking a thought or belief from there to a keyboard/website is very hard...

. __applerue - January 20, 2008 05:23 PM (GMT)
Half full! I'm ever the optimist, even when I shouldn't be...! =D

Misted_Fog - February 10, 2008 07:48 PM (GMT)
I say half empty some reason. Its like I just look at a glass and say hey I don't have a lot of grape juice anymore. Gimme more! Its also empty!

But when I pouring myself something to drink and I only fill half way, I say half full...so i believe it depending on what you are doing.

Ariana - February 10, 2008 08:00 PM (GMT)
Just half. I'm neither optimistic or pessimistic. Maybe I'm a realist? I see things for as they are and even though I daydream a lot about what could happen I'm always aware of what the probable outcome would be.
Dang, that's no fun :\

Bananaland - February 10, 2008 08:03 PM (GMT)
Hmm, it really depends on the situation. I can't always be the optimist all the time, but half full or half empty usually says the same thing. The glass isn't completely empty, there's still hope and there's still some juice left. Even if the other half is missing, at least there's still more. So I might say half empty, because either way there's still more left. Just because the movie is half over doesn't mean the last part isn't just as good as the first. :P:

Though that's just the rantings of my insane mind which is addicted to sugar. So even though I'm a bit sad that half the glass of sugary goodness is gone. There's still another half left that I can get a sugar rush from. (drool)

Elliot Straus - February 10, 2008 09:03 PM (GMT)
While I do tend to be an optimist (the point of the question), I've always looked at the literal question quite objectively. If it looks like it's above the half-way mark of the cup (if there really were a halfway mark) I say it's half-full, if it looks like it's below the half-way mark of the cup, I say it's half-empty. Of course, on the other hand, I can be quite pessimistic sometimes. (x.x)

quark - February 10, 2008 09:44 PM (GMT)
I say "half-way." No full, no empty. Just half-way. It depends on the situation, honestly. Some things call for optimism, and other times it isn't worth it. I guess that makes me a pessimist.

Sunday - February 10, 2008 09:51 PM (GMT)
Jokingly, I would answer "Well, was something just poured into it, or did you just drink out of it?" And I guess that sums up my view of the world. XD But I'd say half-full, if I had to choose one of two answers. I like to think of myself as an optimistic realist though; things can go wrong, and usually things are working against you, but I like to hope for the best.

LOL! The poll is split half-and-half with my vote! 24/24. Ironic.

.buburuza - February 10, 2008 10:06 PM (GMT)
Half full even though I can get very depressed sometimes and start moping about there's always this voice in my head that doesn't believe things are going down the drain. I don't know if it's the stubbornness to go against reason or positive thinking but I like to think it's the latter anyway. Heh.

shadowman23 - February 10, 2008 11:27 PM (GMT)
Half-full. The ironic part is that before my vote, the votes were 25/25. Now they're 26/25 :D! Haha! Go optimists!
