We always love input from our members. That's why I decided to make this survey for you to fill out. This is for me to get more insight into your wishes and ideas about RPG-D. Also we're nearing our one year aniversy of RPG-D, so this might be used to see on how we can improve RPG-D.

Could you explain what you mean by an Advice Column? I've never heard of that ^_^, it sounds interesting.

I've already said quite a bit of what I think in a recent application, but more never hurt. ^_^ Especially after reading others, more things come to me.

I was thinking like, we could have an Advice Column. It's when the members of the site, could either ask Staff or Members, what they should do. Like girls would most likely ask, 'He's flirting with another girl. What should I do?' and then the person would get responses from all the members. So, it's just really people speaking their minds on one situation. The member then picks their own decision.

Those kind of topics normally fit into the managing your RPG area, seeing as you are asking what to do about a situation on your board. I'm not entirely sure an entire forum devoted to that would be all that necessary.

I think she's meaning questions related to real life, not related to forums. I think I had that same idea, but then for a pinned topic. Thanks for clearing it up blkhavenprincess.

Ohhes I thought that was just an example. Lol woopsie. I suppose that would go in the teen section no??

Come on people, we need more surveys filled in to get a general view of what you think about RPG-D and what you want to see changed.

I can already say the Directory catagory will be improved once we get upgraded to Zetaboards, as then we can have subboards within subboards. Especially for the HP section that might be easier to search for interesting RPG's, but we will throw it in the staff lounge if we can think up other improvements for the Directory.

I'm pretty content with this stie (although I don't log in nearly often enough to have very useful input), but I'll fill this out, anyway.

Yeah, fairly. I'm really picky about RPG's, but that's just me...I rather like the idea of RPG-D, though, and you guys are doing a great job!

I think that the indexes of RPG's should have little ratings beside them. I know that a lot of people aren't particularly picky, but personally, I like my boards to be PG-13 or cleaner, for the most part.

Umm...well, I don't know what kind, exactly, but expanding the service that RPG-D provides would be pretty cool.

It's pretty cool. I think the 15 quality post thing could, perhaps, be lowered, but I do understand that having people make quality posts in order to advertise is good for the community.

Well, I usually just go straight to the Managing your RPG forum and lurk, since my board isn't quite ready for advertising on RPG-D yet...but it's pretty good there.

Yes. I have seen proof that many members have found out about my site(s) from this board, and know that I have searched through the directory on numerous occasions with only positive outcomes.

Hmm...can't think of anything at the moment. Maybe cleaning it out more often; like seeing if boards are dead or deleted.

All very good. The site offers interesting sections and discussion threads that are always helpful.

I'm a contest junkie. I think there should be more completitions on the site. Maybe certain things can be done to have "Affiliate of the Month" or a "Member of the Month" for someone who really helps out around the site and such. This always works as great incentive to get people more involved with everything around here.

I really want to have Forum Review section. I've seen it on many other sites. I think if you had a group of people who have run their own sites, and successfully, that could grade things like: Presentation, Plot Ideas, Activity, etc., it would really be interesting. I know I always like to hear and outsiders opinion on my board. Maybe have a "Site Spotlight" section for boards that are reviewed that do very well?

I think it's very easy and clear cut. I have no issues finding topics or sections.

I hate them all! Ha, just kidding. The exact opposite is true. I find all the Staff members both very kind and helpful.

I can't design for crap, but I have been waiting since I joined for the graphics erquest board to be reopened so that I can request a banner for my site.

I almost think more sub-categories would be a good idea. Or even a way to denote something as very active. I also think that maybe checking old ones regularly to make sure nothing has fallen inactive or closed. Once, I saw a good plot, but the board had long since died. I'm also not a fan of the way the directory is listed. Maybe in alphabetical order?

I think maybe something for each forum where members can comment on it. Often, I don't think people realize that they can do that in the directory itself. Its always good to know what people think of specific sites.

The employment section is a little bit dead. People don't seem to check it, and that's a shame. I've had boards that I really need staffed that don't get staffed because no one replies to the threads. Maybe allow bumping after a certain number of days for people who really do need the staff? The graphics request thing always seems to be offline, as well.

-- I think it would be helpful to run a forum reviewing service, where people can post their forums to be reviewed and criticized constructively by people who know what they're doing. That would be nice, definitely.
-- Also a PB-request forum, run in much the same way as the RPG request forum. Many people I see come around looking for PBs and end up posting in forums that don't quite cover that area.

I think there should be more than one admin in charge of the Indexing portion of the site. It's the most active part of RPG-D, and it shouldnt be on the shoulders of only one person.

It's cool. The setup is easy to get around, the skin looks nice, not too hard on the eyes, the rules are not too restricting. I haven't noted much about the way the site is run, but I dont have a problem with it.

For the most part, yes, but there are some parts that I don't like. It takes a long time for boards to be approved and moved to their section. If everyone is busy, why not get more moderators to help? I'm not here as much as I used to be, but when I am, I usually see pages of a back up. Also, while I'm glad sites are being marked as inactive, they're all being congregated to the first pages of the forums. When someone goes into a forum, all they see are black dots. Maybe the topics could be sorted by topic start date instead of last post? Or if a site has a symbol that isn't green, they can be moved to another forum?

I don't know what else could be added, really. Someone mentioned a coding section awhile back, but I got the impression that you guys weren't complete into that. The Support Forum does a good job with those questions, anyhow.

More staff, for the reason in the first question. And, well -- I'm hesitant to say this because this could just be my own opinion, based off my silly reasons. I always feel that staff should be neutral; I don't like seeing staff bashing ideas when people ask for suggestions. I feel that sometimes, I've seen a staff member here take an extreme stance on something, which the original poster may take offense from. Obviously, if someone breaks the rules then a staff member needs to jump in there, but what I'm thinking of doesn't include that. It's mostly topic in the 'Manage Your Forum', 'Roleplay Talk' and places like that.

Yup (happy) It's got a nice atmosphere and friendly people.

I think the sites that are marked with different coloured dots should be sorted into different sub-boards when the directory is moved to zetaboards.

I haven't used any of them, although I regularly browse through them. I'd like it if the graphics request re-opened though.

Yeah, that'd be a great way for sites to get more members.

Somewhere where forums could be reviewed by different members would be good.

I find it really easy.

I don't have any complaints. Everyone seems really friendly.

I really like it because it's pretty much the only place that I post in! I don't post often but I like to read other peoples opinion on the different topics.

yes, i am, this is very functional, good atmosphere, and overall well done, everyone is on equal footing, and there isn't too much focus on the advanced or higher up members. :)

I think that you should have an area in the directory not for 'crossovers' but for 'multi-genre' because there are a few that fit, and a few that just don't, and possible a Misc. area?

i'd like to see more in the way of links to help advertising, but preferably free.

it depends on how that would work out, but i think that might be a good idea so that some forums get more attention. i think this should be randon, actually, and one from each area, maybe a list in the news box...perhaps?

very easy, thank you, clean cut, square edged, simple and stragh forward, excedingly functional.

I don't really like the fifteen quality posts before posting your advertisement, but I see the need for it. I just still don't like it much.

I don't know if that is really necessary at the moment. This forum fills all the needs. :]

I'm quite satisfied, because if you need help, there is definately someone around that can help. You can get afflaites, graphics, people to help with your site, and so much more.

That would be fun! Maybe some graphic contests, just for the heck of it, unless you have it and I haven't seen it. o_O Haah. Whatever to get the adrenaline running. :D

Its' very easy to navigate the place, but of course, that's just me. :]

I haven't seen much of the staff, but I get on at odd times. They seem to be doing a pretty good job. Maybe get a couple more for different times so there is always an admin ready to answer questions and such.

The rules are easy to follow, the layout is amazing, and it is run great. Really, RPG-D is a great place.

I very much enjoy the community forums!! It's fine how they are in my opinion.
