For me:
Pop: I listen mostly to this. Pop just seems simple enough for me.
Rock: Yes, sometimes. Queen <3.
Rap: Ick.
Country: Double ick.
R&B: ...okay. I guess.
Hip Hop: Forced to listen to this, for school dance team. Doesn't mean I have to like it, though, right?

So yeah. So mostly pop & rock for me. :D

Rock and Other ("alternative") I guess. What would stuff like Bob Dylan and Simon and Garfunkel fall under?

And um, the Gregorian chant we listen to in humanities is pretty sweet too. ^_^

I don't really like the others, especially not R&B and Rap, and you forgot the techno and dance music :lol:. Quite a big music scene too.

So for other it'll be more Metal, Celtic, Alternative and more such types of music like Indie and stuff. As long as it's a band, and as long as it sounds good ^_^.

I LOVE MY ROCK! (lovestruck) Queen, T-Rex, Green Day, and lots of other bands. I just love to hear the guitars and the drum solos. XD

Mine are rock (both English and Japanese), and Celtic music for the moment. I don't like country, rap, RnB or Hip Hop much... x_x

I clicked other because I never listen to just one genre. At the moment, I'm fasinated with Asian music and that's what I'm listening to. HYDE, Gackt, DBSK, TRAX, everything...love them all!

I love Classical Music and Rock with Classical Instruments in it with some Techno in it (Rob Dougan anyone?). Techno and Heavy Industrial Rock is also in my world...

I chose rock and other. Basically alternative, indie and hardcore is what I listen to. All things under the label of 'rock'.

I usually go through phases - I went through a country phas, a R&B phase, a rap phase, a rock phase, and now I'm more onto Alternative. For the past eight years I've been stuck on Rock and Alternative, so I chose those in the poll. As for R&B and Country, I can only stand the older songs, from the '90s, and as for rap songs... let's just say that other than Eminem songs, I can't gather enough rap songs to make a CD. As for pop... I am of the boy band era, and yes, I admit that I used to listen to LFO, NSync, Backstreet Boys, etc., but nowadays, it gets on my nerves. I hate techno with a passion.

Hehe. I'm the only one who votes for hip-hop. I can't help it, though! I like the beat to some hip-hop music. I guess I like a lot of music that has good beats to it. I'm just weird like that.

Then I looooove punk rock! Punk rock, metal, alternative... I like it all. I listen to it at least once every day.

My favorite bands are Avril Lavigne(I don't really like her, I just like her songs), Linkin Park, and Evanescence.

Hard call! I like examples from any genre... I've never met a type of music that I didn't have minimal interest in. Lately, I've been listening to a lot of old bluegrass (mainly Flatt & Scruggs), random alternative music (anything from Nick Cave to 311), and even more random Italian music (Articolo 31 and Paolo Conte and Riccardo Tesi - totally random).

When I was younger, I used to cycle through genres more... up until I was 10, I listened almost exclusively to grunge. Then I started listening to rap, then ska, then local alternative bands, then "ethnic music." I like where I'm at now.

I really do listen to everything =D I mean, i have favorites, but my ears are equal opprotunity.

I don't understand why everyone's down on country. Allthough, there are annoying artists in every genre...I love country. It's the root of all music (past Gospel, of course) if you ask me. :D But that's a debate for another time.

I'm a diehard metal-head, mostly into the NWOBHM, thrash and power metal sub-genres. Unfortunately, North America's saturated with death metal and metal-rap, and I can't find a single music store that carries power metal. I guess it's mostly contained in Europe, so thank goodness for BitTorrent (unhappy)

I also like hard rock, classical and romantic, and individual songs from other genres that I otherwise dislike (ie, rap and electronic). The only thing I can't stand are corporate acts.

I just hate the idiots in my school with their weird concept of what Death Metal, Punk, and Hardcore is. (System of A Down = Not Death. Sum 41 = Not Punk. Atreyu = Not Hardcore.)

There's nothing like classic rock, though I have taken a sudden interest in modern rock for some reason. ^^

I also enjoy listening to the old rock bands like Aerosmith, Alice in Chains, Iron Maiden, Queen, etc. After all, they are who the much more recent bands gain some sort of influence from. (tongue)

I listen to everything. I really don't care about genre. If it has a sound I like, then I'll listen to it, whether it be rock, pop, country, r&b, jazz, classical, rap, metal, death metal, ska, punk, emo, industrial, dance, electro...it's all good in my book! Though I do have to say, just from the sheer amount of it that I possess, that visual kei/j-rock is probably my favorite.

Thus, I have an extremely broad range that makes some people boggle. XD One minute I'll be listening to Kelly Clarkson or Red Hot Chili Peppers, and then suddenly I'm listening to Dir en grey, Nightwish, No Doubt, Emilie Autumn, Aqua, Faye Wong, Silver Ash, Josh Turner, Enya, Gackt, Cradle of Filth...>_>

So I listen to all of those. :3 Language is also not a barrier for me. I think I have more foreign songs/artists than I do songs/artists in English. Currently I have a LOT of Japanese stuff, then stuff in Korean, Cantonese and Mandarin, Russian, French, Finnish, Gaelige, Spanish, German, Latin, Sanskrit, Swahili...you name it, I love it. <3

I like Rock, mostly J-rock and K-Rock though. I'm pretty much set on Miyavi, The GazzettE {;s I can never spell their name right though}, Gackt, Hyde {Hyde's band...}, the TRAX. Out of American bands I like Paramore {if you consider them rock, I'm not sure...}, older stuff by Linkin Park.

Then I like a lot of pop to, K-pop, and J-pop again. DBSK {TVXQ, DBSG, whatever else they go by}, Super Junior, Big Bang, etc. Out of American artists I'm pretty much in love with Simon Curtis.

I also really like the Goo Goo Dolls, the sound track to Advent Children, and Disney songs.
