I think that I have found something that I really think would be a lot of fun. Just today I was going back through old sites that I have RPed on and one being Hogwarts Online. Now it looked all the same, but then I saw on there main web page that they have a radio station?
I clicked on it thinking that they were a bunch of crazy sons of.....Well anyways, I clicked it and all of a sudden I hear this song and then one of the guys that I had RPed with talking on this page while DJing. I pulled up my old YIM and IMed him and was talking to him how he had got this whole thing going. It was totally crazy how he did it and now he has a radio for his web page where they can just click a link. I just sent in some requests by IM and he had a program which found all of the songs. He even has enough members that he has the radio going all day long. I was just talking with him for hours about it. I was totally amazed and I still think that I am.
Did any of you guys know about this or am I just totally out of the loop of things?
I don't DJ myself, but, yeah, I've seen that sort of thing before with podcasting and the like. I haven't seen a lot of roleplaying forums doing it, tho, just gaming clans. For example there was some HabboHotel "mafia" (I know, wtf) that had a radiostation, a Warcraft 3 clan, a City of Heroes clan and a Counterstrike clan that I've seen that had a radiostation of some kind. And yeah, it's pretty amazing, even if they'd get listeners as low as ten to twenty people, it's still awesome to listen in, request stuff, tell them to say shout-outs, etcetera. Yeah.
I have no idea how they do it or where you could find a program that could find songs and download them instantly within minutes of a request. :o How did your old Hogwarts Online person do it, anyway? I'd love to do something like that someday later if I got the right programs.

Soompi had Soompi radio! It played Kpop all day. God, I miss that. :[
Never done it myself, but Soompi radio was around like... back in 2000 I believe.
I will ask him this evening when he is online. I do know though that the program he uses to play the songs is Winamp and where he downloads the songs for requests is from limewire.... When I talk to him tonight I will inform all of you guys in more detail about it.
