A TWISTED TALE
As if. Our world is nothing like that. It is not filled with wonder, there are no princes to come and sweep you off of your feet and tell you that everything is going to be all right. There will be no princesses who will love you when they first lay eyes on you. There will be no meek women, no kind kings, and nothing is as it seems. Our world is filled with questions, with horrors, and with a kind of hell that we cannot get out of. It’s hell on earth living here. We’ve heard the stories, of women with great beauty and men with strength and honor. But those really are just fables. Our stories are far darker, far more sinister, then anything you could have ever imagined. There are no happy endings here. There is no one to save you here. You will see people who are dying, people poisoned, people living with disease. It’s not a pretty place. But it’s where we live, and there’s nowhere else to go. There are four different kingdoms, each horrific in its own way. The Eastern edge of the kingdom is ruled by many different warlords. Some don’t understand why they’re even fighting, just that they do fight and have been for centuries. No one steps foot on the Eastern edge of the kingdom without some kind of weapon on them. The Western edge is where the black market rules. Slaves are sold there, and people scare their children by telling them that if they wander around alone at night that they will be taken into the west. The Northern edge is filled with ice, and it’s always winter there. How, we do not know. We suspect it has something to do with the Queen, but no one dares ask. How do you ask a woman who kills on sight? No one goes into the North, not without a death wish. And finally, the Southern edge is filled with thieves, beggars, and murderers. It’s the only place in the kingdom without some kind of law. Even the East has laws, but the South has none. One can get away with anything there. Our world is lost. I beg of you to understand this. Do not try to save it. Do not try to understand the horror that we undergo every day. This is the kind of world that men cringe from, that women cry to see. Do not come here. Do not try to save our world. Give up on us, and save yourselves. |
