Title: Little Orphan Looks For A Father!

The Beginning - February 27, 2010 01:14 AM (GMT)
Preferred Genre: Everything is accepted!
Preferred Difficulty: Intermediate
Preferred Rating: R or up
Preferred Number of Members/Activity: Decent, I don't want to be waiting a post for days.
Preferred Time where RPG is set in: Present, or future.
Additional Notes: I've been dying to RP a small kiddo for a while XD I'm looking for someone who is willing to adopt him "3

Original or Canon character: original
Basic Character Overview: Marcus is a seven year old orphan who is looking for his parents. He doesn't remember a lot of them because he was very little when they abandoned him. He is a dreamer and constantly fantasies about them. He treats those he would consider friends very well. It takes a lot to get close to him, but once done it, it's guaranteed he will be loyal and supportive comrade till the end. While he may rip on my friends a bit, it is taboo for others to do so. e is quick to defend those worthy of it and will often take a stand if they aren’t willing to. Who your friends are say a lot about a person, so he makes sure his friends are treated with the same respect that he expects. Anything less is unacceptable. Since the number of people he would consider close to is slim, He doesn't mind putting a great deal of effort into making them happy. He appreciates it if they have the same loyalty and respect for me as well. It’s hard to tell what kind of person he looks for though. They are a diverse bunch, each bringing something interesting into his life. Once you have earned his friendship, they will have it for quite some time.

Preferred Play-By: Play by can be negotiated.

Character Profile: Ill make one as soon as you link me to the application form :3

Hey there =)

Up In Arms is a sci-fi that's not all that sci-fi-ey. Humans get taken from Earth as part of a conquering technique and then the characters we play get dumped on an uninhabited planet to colonise it. It's brand new, so I'm the only person, but since I'm the admin I will reply to posts quick fast xD

I would, honestly, love to have a kiddie on UIA. We have the space for absolutely anyone because everyone gets chucked into the same situation, and I think a seven year old's search for parents on an unfamiliar planet would be pretty awesome. It'd certainly add something to the roleplay, especially if we can get someone (or me, if I can handle another char) to play his surrogate mother -- the person who decides he needs to be looked after.

We don't actually have an application, so your basic character overview would totally suffice if you wanted to keep it that way; you can make yourself a profile if you want (or you can make me make you a template :p).

I hope that you'll have a look around and my contact details are on my profile here so you can hit me up if you have any questions =)

You wake up.
You feel awful; your stomach is cramped from lack of food, and you feel light-headed and in desperate need for water.

You struggle to your feet, your already lurching stomach causing you to dry retch when you realise that the thing you used to push yourself up was a dead body.

There's movement not far away from you; once you've had a drink, you'll go see what it is. For now, all you care about is getting to that running water you can hear.

Once your thirst has been reduced, a thought starts running through your mind: where am I? where am I?
Where am I?

I think it would be an incredible twist to role play your little boy within the realm of Silent Hill. There have been several characters who've come to SH in search of a lost loved one, or fell victim to the town's grasp against their will, or even knowledge as to why.

If you're unfamiliar with the games/movie, I'd be more than willing to go over everything with you to bring you up to speed. :)

The Plot

Nightmares resurrect in the shadows of memories that those who have visited the hellish Silent Hill have tried to forget. The festering spirit of Dahlia Gillespie was given human form once again by the other realm of the town that took so many lives in hopes to bring back 'God'. Her purpose? To bring back Heather, who was originally fated to be the bearer of God, and manifest her army of evil minions for the army of Silent Hill.

Meanwhile, the spirit of Alessa still stirs, unable to allow her soul a peaceful rest with her mother's plans taking hold of the town once again. She in turn summons the memories of her detached soul, Heather, and resurrects the spirits of all those in Heather's memories who'd already faced the treacherous pits of the Silent Hill. Harry, her father. Travis Grady and Douglas Cartland.

Knowing the town itself has always lived and breathed, Alessa mustered the strength within her to summon and bring back all those who had been and fallen within the town. James Sunderland. A man driven by guilt for the murder of his wife... by his own doing, lured back by the last words his wife left for him...haunting him.

He's only an example; there are so many others, all with their own story to tell, and with their own demons to fight. The large group of people is not an asset however, unfortunately with each person who enters, the dark forces grow stronger and with every regret and every dirty secret that stirs deep within these people, there is a consequence waiting for it in Silent Hill. The demons that dwell within them give the town more power, causing it's hell to become blacker than ever before.

Which side will you choose? Fight for the lives of others, and bringing the town back to it's beauty? Or allowing your soul to succumb to 'Gods' will, and with it, losing yourself completely. The opportunities are endless!

Hello!

Zoanthropes Must…

Not infect humans.
Or face a lawsuit, which would result in staggeringly high legal fees. Nine out of ten cases result in the shifter paying the victim compensation.

Keep their animalism secret.
Or face a fine or prison sentence.

Pay a yearly five hundred pounds zoanthrope tax.
Or have their house, furniture, apartment, etc repossessed.

Obey the law.
Or face a life sentence. The more serious offenses (rape and murder) can lead to execution.

In addition, zoanthrope leaders must prevent their kind (including Rogues) from committing crimes.
Or else they must pay a hefty fine.

We could always use orphans on our site...and I promise he won't get eaten by an evil machine like the others o.O I have a few characters on my site who would adopt...okay one...who would adopt a little kid. She is not human but hell she's a sweetheart and would be willing to help him in his search. It's sort of a Victorian gothic horror and very scary as far as a world for a child but when you have an angel on your side things are not as creepy ^-^

So, my site is not rated R, and is a new site, so we currently have very few members, but i really like this character idea, and think it would work well on my site. Also, the characters have to be at least 12... sorry if that's a problem.

My forum is based on the book The Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins (don't worry, you don't have to read the book to join the fourm.) Children 12-18 are randomly chosen each year to fight to the death in the Hunger Games, which are televised on TV. (More info below). It would be interesting to see how the country would react if a little orphan is thrown into the Hunger Games. He has no family back home who cares about him, but the rich citizens in the Captiol might fall in love with him and he could find someone who would want to adopt him.

If you need more infomation let me know, sorry if it's not what your looking for.
Anyways... here's the ad!

Think America, hundreds of years into the future. After a "second great depression" caused the country to fall into poverty, hunger, and despair, a new dictating goverment took over to keep control of the country. This reborn America was renamed Panem. And for a while, all was fine. Then the country started to rebel.

First, to stop the rebellion, the country was separated into thirteen seperate districts, each district having little or nothing to do with each other. Sadly, this didn't work. To show the people that the government had complete control over the country, district thirteen, the rebellious district, was destroyed. Completly wiped off the map.

Also, the government created The Hunger Games. Every year, one boy and one girl from each district (24 kids in total) between the ages of 12 and 18 are chosen to be tributes for the Hunger Games. These kids are put into an arena, and must fight to the death while the country watched on live T.V. For 23 of these tributes, they will die, but for 1 they will become the Hunger Games Champion, and live for the rest of their life in luxury with more money than they could ever imagine.

Now it's time for you to decide. Will you create a super rich fashion designer from the capitol or a barely surviving farmer from district eleven? Will you flee Panem to help fight the government with the rebels, or become a Peace-Keeper to keep the Panem Government alive? And most importantly, are you brave enough to create a character between the ages twelve to eighteen and try to compete in the Hunger Games?

Create a character today and see it you can be the next Hunger Games Champion on Surviving In Panem.

Hey there! Sounds like you'd be interested in Vault 713!

We're set in a Harry Potter universe, but the whole world is available to you - so whether Marcus has magical powers or not (or doesn't know yet!) there's plenty of room for him - and plenty of adults who would love to adopt him, I'm sure! Since we're a long running board with a solid, welcoming member base, you won't have to wait forever to post, and can get involved in the community as soon as you're ready.

We're a self-hosted board on our own server, with no ads or drama,
just quality role playing you can sink your teeth into.

Check out some of the cool things we have to offer...
  • A player driven plot in an expansive world that lets you follow along with the Harry Potter series book by book (we're currently in the middle of Prisoner of Azkaban), but also lets you carve your own path in the world. Your character is just as important as any canon, so why stop at just Hogwarts when there's an entire globe to explore? The only limits are those of your imagination - so why settle for anything less?

  • No word count requirements, but instead a grammar policy that encourages players to post using correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling. We have players of all styles and skill levels, so you're sure to find folks who post at a length and speed you're comfortable with.

  • A large, active player base with folks on 24/7, but don't let the size intimidate you - we're a tight knit community that loves welcoming new folks into our midst. Get to know your fellow players in the chat room, or with our facebook-style instant messaging system and make friends that will last a lifetime!

  • Simple applications that are approved in less than an hour so you can start role playing on your time instead of waiting around to get involved. There's no reason to ask "Can I?" either - we'll allow almost anything you can come up with as far as characters are concerned, so the possibilities are endless!

Think you'd like to check us out?
Head on over to http://www.vault713.com and take a look around,
we can't wait to meet you and your new character!

You're still welcome with us, though we might have to edit the plot slightly. Lemme know if you're up for it :)

How about Star Wars: Darkness and Light? It's a great big galaxy out there, and we could definitely use some child characters.

What could a 7 year old orphan do on our board? He could be...
-A Jedi youngling/padawan
-A Sith initiate/apprentice
-The son/nephew/cousin of a senator/governor/monarch/Jedi (in some cases)/Sith Lord/military officer/criminal
-A wild Force user, unsure of the nature of his powers and what to do with them
-A Force adept, trained by tribal shamans or other traditions
-A slave/indentured servant
-A civilian: yes, characters who are just ordinary people can have a lot of fun here

or anything else you can imagine. We always encourage new ideas that don't always follow the setting's formulas.

At least drop by and take a look around. You won't regret it!
