I hope this is in the right section; if it isn't, my apologies.
Anyways, I found
this tutorial which deletes the background from a picture. It's a good tutorial; however, the picture whose background I wish to delete does not work because the object in the foreground is dark as well. Can someone please tell me the best way to delete the dark background of a picture with a dark foreground? Thanks.
I don't really understand your questions. But I'll tell you what I'll do when I have to erase/delete a background from a picture.
First I duplicate the picture itself, then delete the original picture, then I make a new layer (transparant background). I'll drag the new layer below the picture, so that when you start to erase the background, the transparant background appears. If your done with the erasing/deleting, merge the two layers together. Save it as a png and whalla, you can use it for everything you want.
I hope it helped, if I understood it wrong, try to explain it again.
Interesting tutorial btw (goes to save it).
Erm, you lost me on the "transparent". Is this a setting to which I put my new layer? How is this different than simply opening up the picture and erasing the background?
