Just three things you need to know to about the code.

• The sidebar is made for putting under the logo and nav bars, if you want that put the code between <%NAVIGATION%> and <%BOARD%>. If you want it on the side of everything put it directly above <% BOARD HEADER%> .
• Many skins have <%STATS%> and such, so put the second code he gives you under everything in the Header and Body section, regardless of whether you have that code in the footer section, it won't work other wise.
• Side bar on the side of the entire board normally causes the board to be harder to view under the resolution of 1152x864, using it under the header and navigation makes the board stretch on certain pages.

Have you made sure your screen settings are at the largest possible?

Right click desktop>Properties>Settings

Also, it works on most screens if the forum width is set to 720 pixels.
