So I'm a die-hard music player, hoping to get a degree in music playing and music education, but anyways back to the story.
So yesterday we had our district solo and ensemble meet, and I've been working hard on this piece called Chrysalis for solo clarinet and piano. I think the total time practiced on the song was around 4 and a half hours. And my hard work paid off because I managed to get a superior (Highest rank it goes from Superior, Excellent, Good, Fair, Poor) on the song, and everybody thought I sounded great on the song, and my judge just happened to be the conductor that I went to summer band camp for (not a HS band camp). It was a really good experience considering that last year everybody that went got a superior.
Wow, congratulations!! I used to do a lot of Solo/Ensemble for band and choir in high school, and I know how much hard work goes into getting that recognition. Way to go!! :D
