Title: Top Five Disney Heroes/heroines

In a similar vein to SYDLET ?!'s thread on the top five disney villains, what are your top five disney heros/heroines? You know those ones that you KNOW will save the day or make things work out but you still have to watch their every move?

#5 - Stitch [Lilo & Stitch]
he's trouble but he's cute and hes ALWAYS making everyone feel better about themselves. stitch may not be your typical "brawn and brainless" disney hero but he still saves the day and is a hero none the less. despite being an alien experiment, he still saves lilo and helps her realise that family comes in all shapes and sizes, not just that with what you are presented in the beginning.

#4 - Beast [Beauty and the Beast]
"Once upon a time in an enchanted forest, there was a beautiful castle where a reclusive beast lived. He was once a prince but had been transformed into a monster for his mean ways. If he could learn to love and be loved by a beautiful girl, then the spell would be broken...but who could learn to love a beast?"

again, not your typical hero, he is somewhat tied between the hero and villain status' in the beginning (even though gaston is the most obvious villain in the story) but the beast becomes a hero in the end with the aid of our heroine; none other than Belle.

#3 - Timon & Pumbaa [The Lion King]
always there to look out for everyone else, first simba then his daughter kiara, timon and pumbaa are heroes in their own backyard though not those we would typically associate with the role. they always seem to know how to help those around them even if it is threatening an envious lioness with pumbaa's secret weapon! timon and pumbaa are comic relief and just so lovable.

"He's gonna hurt us, Timon! You've got to do something!"
"What do you want me to do? Dress in drag and do the hula?"

#2 - Mulan [Mulan]
mulan is one of the few disney heroines who appears very human. she is afraid of disappointing her family and of being herself lest it bring shame to her family and her country yet she goes out and fights in her father's place to save him the pain of doing so. she wasn't a passive princess, wasn't focussed solely on a man and all the males in the story were proud to fight at her side even after discovering she was a woman (though they did not like it at first). she shows the true strength of a woman and bridges the gap between male and female stereotypes.

#1 - Megara [Hercules]
the most unlikely of disney heroines and my favourite fictional character to date. megara is headstrong and fights her own villains even 'ties her own sandles' though she is, unwillingly, working with hades. megara is, imo, one of the more realistic heros in the cartoons. even for a fictional character her choices are understandable and you can feel for her, feel her past and understand her choices. she is one of the few heriones who don't go looking for love, don't swoon at the sight of the prince, etc, yet she still finds that she can't help but fall for Herc. she is also one of the only heroines who actually dies for the love of her life (though she comes back in the end). then there is the one thing that makes her number 1: she has the most important human quality; the flaw of making mistakes.
