| On December 2, 1963, Calder Bailey was born. From a young age, Calder could be described as ‘lucky.’ He would find a five dollar bill just blowing down the street. He’d win the spelling bee by the skin of his teeth. His name would be drawn to take care of the class hamster, something everyone wanted to do, four times in a row. As Calder grew older, he became progressively luckier. He would shoot the winning basket at the Championship game. He’d win Prom King. He’d win the track meet with a sprained ankle. His luck was just getting better and better; it was nothing anyone else would bother thinking about. When Calder was thirty-seven years old, his luck finally gained him some recognition. He won the state lottery and a massive amount of money was awarded to him. Calder was set for life. However, this event caused Calder to stop and think about his life. Throughout his existence, he’d been ‘lucky’ and he would swear, to this day, that it wasn’t all just a big coincidence. Taking a bold step, Calder hired expert after expert to help him figure out what was wrong with him. Unfortunately, no one could provide him with the answers he was looking for - even after four years. They all kept assuring him he was just one lucky man. Calder knew better; he knew there was something different about him – something special. Logic also told him that he could not have been the only ‘special’ individual in the world. Calder set out to help these individuals. Surely they would appreciate a place to develop their ‘specialties’ and interact with others who faced the same challenges. Calder also decided that these ‘special’ individuals must vary – he’d never met anyone quite like him. He was positive he would have recognized them if they’d crossed paths. Calder still had a fair amount of money to burn and he decided to give back to the community. For two years, he worked to set up a school that would benefit young minds – as he had once been. During this time, he sent a trusted scout out to recruit potential students for the school. It was Calder’s dream come true. However, someone got wind of Calder’s dream. This anonymous tipster posted a blog on the internet about this new ‘school.’ The blog attracted the attention of the world like a wildfire unchecked. All eyes are on Bailey Academy and the so-called ‘blog’ written by someone with an obvious inside knowledge of the school. What’s going to happen once the school officially opens? Who’s watching from behind the computer screen? No one has the answers, but maybe the mystery writer can explain… |
