Title: POLL: Submitting Challenge Entries

Lorreign - October 9, 2009 05:36 PM (GMT)
I hope my poll choices make sense to you. If they don't, please ask for clarification before putting in your vote.

Basically, I want to know how you guys would prefer challenge entries to be done. Do you like not knowing who made what? Or does it not matter to you at all? Is it more convenient for you to just reply to the thread with your entry or do like sending a PM? Do you like being able to see entries as they come in or do you like them being revealed to you all at once?

Etc etc.

If you vote for poll option 4, which is not liking any of the choices given, PLEASE tell me why and what you would suggest instead.

i like knowing who submitted something, but would like for the work to be kept secretish. so maybe a list saying who submitted something, but the work be pm'ed to a challenges account.

I like the idea of us having to judge the entries solely on the entries themselves. Someone is far less likely to vote for an entry (even if it's really good) if they don't like the person who made it. It's the fairest way to do this.

I voted for the first one. If someone wishes to show off their work, they can always post it in a showcase/link to it in their portfolio after the contest has ended.

First one. Agreed. :3

First one. It is more work for the staff, but it's much harder to be biased if you don't recognise any of the work, and much harder to make a fair decision if you know that you really like/dislike one of the people who entered.

The only thing about PMing is that we have no idea if our entry was received.

Actually, wrong. When you compose a PM, you can click the checkbox next to "Track Message" before you send. Then once you send it, you can go to Message Tracker in the My Controls.

So you can track receipt of it :)

I would like the entries to be PMed and then posted without the artist's name for voting. However, anyone who has been here long enough can probably recognize whose piece is whose, so it won't be entirely secret anyway.

In Poultry shows, the entries are marked with the owner's name represented by an entry number, but we all know whose birds are whose, and the judges, who have been around forever, really know.
