Title: Gfx Programs

So for all of you graphic makers, what program do you use? Photoshop CS? CS 2? Paint Shop Corel X? Well, I use to have Paint Shop Corel X but that was only for thirty days XD Now I don't have any program(s) but most of my friends use CS 2. I have tried looking around for Photoshop and even site where I could download it for free but unfortunately I wasn't lucky.
So, what about you all?

I use Photoshop CS2.
I know some professionals like using Corel I personally haven't tried.
But PSCS2 is pretty good. Adobe is a pretty good company...
The legal way to do it is to buy a copy .-.

I have Paint Shop Pro 8. I don't know if others find it good or not, but I'm happy with it. I also have Microsoft Picture It! Premium 10 which is a very simple graphic program. I also had a 50-day trial of Paint Shop Pro Studio and Paint Shop Photo Album 5.

I use PhotoShop CS2, wich I think is a very good program.
Hasn't really tried any other program... except Paint Shop Pro which I didn't like so much. :/

I at the moment use Photoshop Creative Suit 2.0. Friday I had a look at Corel Painter and I really liked the look of it. It was on an apple but still :D. I wouldn't mind having that program either. I'm going to have a look if I can get a 30 day trial to see how it works. Although I really need to get a tablet so I can work better in these programs, my first one broke ><. And I find it quite annoying to work with a mouse in these programs, although I'm getting used to it a bit more again. But you can never work as precise as with a tablet.
So yeh, Adobe Photoshop CS2 for me ^^.

I have Photoshop CS2 as well, but i find myself using Photoshop 7 out of habit since it was the first one I've had. For animations in sigs and avatars I use/have Image Ready. Anything more comprehensive and it goes to Macromedia Flash MX (04).

I'm too poor for all that photoshop stuff :p I have GIMP 2.0

I have PS 6.0 - a little behind the times, but it works until I can scrape together the money for an upgrade. :) I'm also fond of ArtRage, which is free, although I haven't really figured out how to use it yet.
Papa John - November 26, 2006 06:52 PM (GMT)
Some people I know claimed they downloaded it with something called a keygenerator but I will wait until I save up I suppose. I use Microsoft Picture Manager from time to time but that is it XD

XD I use Adobe Photoshop 7.0 Wish I had CS though... But it's so expensive! And I don't want to risk downloading a crack and getting a virus.
Anyway, I tried Paint Shop Pro once, but I don't think I liked it all too much.

I have Paint Shop Pro 9 and I love it, plus it's really the first program I worked with, so I am a bit biased... I also just downloades Animation Shop 3, but I've yet to use it and it's only a 30 day trial, so who knows how I'll feel then.

I use Photoshop CS. I started out using Paint Shop Pro 7 awhile ago. Since then I sort of 'upgraded' to PS. I personally love using Photoshop. It's just easier for me and I know my way around. Occasionally I'll make my cartoon dolls in PSP but for everything else, it's Photoshop. ArtRage is a good program for creating textures and things of that nature.

Photoshop/GIMPshop is the way to go. PSP is just...bad.
Chexdex - December 4, 2006 08:31 PM (GMT)
I use Photoshop CS2.
I've used Photoshop CS at school last year.
And Photoshop 4 or 5 the year before at school.
I've never used anything else besides Photoshop

*is shocked* Someone else with Microsoft Picture it!? I don't think mine's the Premium 10 version, but it really isn't a half-bad program eh? Well, this is coming from someone who went from Paint, to Animation Shop 3, to Microsoft Picture It. I don't have much to compare it to.
I downloaded the 30 day trial of Animation Shop 3, and I really only use it to animate stuff I made in Paint and Microsoft Picture It. Don't really like it... But I do like how it never stopped working after 30 days. I've probably had it for at least 6 months...
Could someone tell me how much PSP 6 or 7 would be? I culd only find CS, and that was something like 200$ +...

Photoshop (PS) and Paintshop Pro (PSP) are different programs, PSP being the cheaper of the two. You may want to look into Photoshop Elements, which is like 'photoshop lite'. Also, educational liscences greatly reduce the cost - I believe an educational copy of Photoshop Elements is maybe 50 dollars at most. :)
I'd suggest going and looking around, if there's one near you, a college bookstore. They have excellent deals on educational lisences.

My school has Photoshop Elements, and I'm really not a fan of it. Though I'll have a look for one of these college book stores...

>< Oh I so knew that... not. Thanks for that, heh. I don't even know what Paintshop Pro is. Photoshop is what I meant.
