Title: Celebrating Halloween
ShinLi - October 28, 2006 09:48 AM (GMT)
I was kind of wondering who all celebrated Halloween and in what way. This because I live in the Netherlands and we do not really have Halloween here. It's getting a bit more known, and some celebrate it here, but that's only because the whole hype is coming over from America.
So yeh, tell us about it. How do you celebrate it. Have you made a costume, or do you still need to make one? Do you celebrate it with your family, friends, have some parties, or going to get lots of candy.

Halloween isn't that big in the UK, but it's becoming more and more celebrated - again because of the hype from the US. I've always liked Halloween, but my mum hates it, so we never go trick or treating or anything. Not sure if I'm going to do anything this year, some of the theme parks are doing special 'fright nights' and I may get dragged along to one of them by my friends.

In teh U.K it is big, perhaps not as big in the Us but it is big... I'm not celebrating though, I don't think, because my boyfrined cannot make his mind up of what to do. :|

There used to be little kids running around the neighborhood when I was little. Ever since the threat of poisoning candy came out, there isn't so much of that anymore. Now there's mostly festivals and shopping mall trick-or-treating.

It's pretty big in the US but I don't really like Halloween all that much. *shrugs* Just not my thing. I prefer... Easter! :)

I always thought Halloween was a lot of fun when I was a kid. But I think it's dying no thanks to those stuffy old adults! I loved dressing up and going trick-or-treating at nighttime. But now it's seen as a dangerous activity and candy is passed out at day time, usally held at a park or something. And NOT on Halloween. I don't think it's that big of a deal, especially if you live in a safe community. Besides, when I was very little, I always had an adult go with me until I was old enough. But now almost no kids go around trick-or-treating at night. Bah. *grumbles about the "good old days"*
But ever since I was....oh...12 or so? ...after that I did nothing for Halloween except buy discounted Halloween candy.
Tonight, however, I'm going to a Halloween party at a professor's house. I am looking forward to it. I wish I had a costume, though. Oh well, I will bring the cookies I made and it shall be fantastic.

Haloween isn't so big in Sweden either, as far as I know atleast. XD
I and my family has never really celebrated it, I think I wanted to celebrate it when I was younger but it never happened. D:
It would probably be nice to celebrate it, though! Just because I've never done it before. But the bad thing is that I don't live in a city, so you have to walk quite a bit to get to the next house. But I have two friends that live in city's, and I think it would be fun to celebrate Halloween with them... X3
But I dunno if that would happen. >_<

Halloween <33 what can I say?
For one, it's my birthday, I have to love it! So it's always celebrated at my house at least in birthday form. Regardless of that, my dad loves to decorate the house and yard with tacky decorations, but it's all in fun. We always go to some type of Halloween part or have one ourselves.
I live in the U.S., it's a well known holiday. =]

I dont celebrate halloween. My friends dont either. It isn't that big in the UK, or at least nto where I live. It just seems pretty tacky. I used to dress up when I was like 8, but it just sort of died. Anyway...i'm off to sleep before I drop dead in front of the keyboard.

Halloween is big where I live. But that's because I live in Canada, and Halloween is pretty big in the northern part of North America. In fact, I still go trick or treating. So I'm a bit of a big, big kid, haha.

In the UK I'd say it's big for kids. Nearly everyone under 11 goes trick-or-treating, and the adults usually play along with sweets or money. That's about it, though - a few adults do up their houses (usually 'cause theyhave kids/grandkids) and it's an excuse to have a party (but we usually wait for Bonfire Night in my social circle). People are aware of it, but any hype for it comes mostly from the US.

Oh I've always loved All Hallows Eve. In school it's one huge thing and tons of people dress up, though most of the girls look like sluts, I dont really care though, This year I am being a Faerie, and I made my own costume! It's uber cute ^_^. Hell, even last year I went trick-or-treating with my friends, we are such little kids! I dont think I am going around this year though, probably will just hang out with a bunch of friends in the woods, stull gunna be fun!

Costume party with friends. That's about it.

Ooh, I'm doing Halloween this year. I'm going trick or treating with two of my friends...our theme is Little Red Riding Hood. I get to be the big bad wolf. I actually wasn't planning on doing Halloween this year, I'm starting to get too old for the trick-or-treating thing but, meh, that really doesn't matter to me now that I'm just going to have fun getting candy with my friends. :smug:
In my neighborhood, Halloween's pretty popular. Little kids are out until, like, six or eight. It's fun. I also live in the US (Pennsylvania) in case anyone was wondering.

Unfortunately not, I love it but Tuesdays are bad for me.

I just celebrated Halloween last Saturday. I went trick or treating. But it was boring. I expected a fun one since I just moved..

Halloween isn't that big in Norway, but it's getting bigger. I like it. I love dressing up, and every occasion to have a party is a good thing! I celebrated last Saturday with my friends. We went to a party and had fun.

I looove Halloween. <33 I'm being a pirate this year. Me and my friends are going trick-or-treating and then we're coming back to my house to eat and watch horror movies. I also went to a party last weekend, and am going to one next weekend too.

I love halloween, but I've kind of outgrown it. In the neighborhood that my family lives in, there are about a gazillion little kids so trick-or-treating is huge. My mother usually gives out candy, but over the years, I always seem to have more and more hw to do on halloween, so I could never really go out. And this year, I'm away at college so not a lot going on this halloween. I'm sure they will be some parties, but it is a Tuesday night and people have classes tomorrow. So bah. We did decorate our hall some and a few of my friends decorated their room.
