Title: Creative Mind
Description: Races, etc.

Pig_catapult - September 6, 2006 08:16 AM (GMT)
Your Name: Uh, real name or online?
Your Age: Turning 16 later this month
Offered Position: "Creative" person
Experience: I can do smilies, races, complex magical rituals, and much, much more! (just keep in mind that I work best if you give me a vague outline of what KIND of thing you want, otherwise I either just can't think of anything, or come up with something wildly different than what you had in mind. Gimmie a concept!)
QUOTE (Complex Magical Ritual (taken from a fanfic I wrote @ and yes, it is "shounen ai," so don't get too confused when there's a reference to "his beloved" and all characters involved in the scene are male) (names have been changed to protect the ignorant [ie, people who hate the pairing)
)]char_1 repressed a shudder as the cold paste made out of a combination of various plants and the lifeblood of seven fairies – which had been very difficult to catch, mind you – was spread on his chest in a pattern that he couldn't recognize. char_2 began to chant softly as he smeared the paste onto his beloved's flesh.

char_1 braced himself for the pain that char_2 had warned him would come next, but even all of his willpower could not have kept him from screaming and thrashing about were it not for the fact that the ritual had temporarily paralyzed him, rendering him unable to do either. He heard char_2's breathing hitch as the crow smeared some of the paste over his own wrist and pressed it to a marking right over char_1's heart.

char_2 finished the ritual, and the pain faded to a dull ache all over. The paste had vanished when the ritual ended. char_1 could move again, in theory, but he didn't want to. The ritual had been very draining on his energy. What the ritual did was take most of his spectral power and store it so that if he was attacked by someone – aside form char_2, who had cast the spell – who wished to do him serious harm, the stored spectral power would be released all at once in whatever form his energy naturally took. The best and worst thing about it was that it would steadily drain his spectral power little by little to charge itself, making it all the more powerful if its uses were few and far between. However, this meant that he would run out of spectral power in a fight more quickly, unable to access the stored energy, which would probably be released the instant he was attacked, anyway. Of course, in all likelihood, if the burst of energy didn't kill the attacker, char_1 wouldn't be able to by himself.

(Now don't any of you go flaming me for writing this. If you're intolerant of homosexuals, I don't want to work for you anyway, since I'm one)

QUOTE (A race I made up (in "Ria" format @ since I've submitted this race to them in the past, but the thread hasn't been replied to yet))
Treekin

Nature: Treekin are just that. Relatives of the trees. Or, rather, daughters of the trees. When a particular kind of oak tree -- called the Wisdom Oak -- reaches a hundred years, it begins to grow a pod inside its trunk, several inches off to the side. It takes about fifteen years, give or take, for the pod to become large enough to be protruding from the bark on one side. The pod is a dark green, and two inches thick. Finally, cracks begin to form in it, and it shatters, spilling out a large amount of translucent chartreuse liquid, and a treekin. The treekin coughs up the liquid that was in her lungs, no longer able to get oxygen from it, and takes her first true breath. She is wearing a robe made of thin, opaque, leaf-like material that comes in various shades of green and regenerates rather quickly if torn. She knows everything that the Wisdom Oak knows, and the Wisdom Oak learns by looking into the minds of other beings. Treekin have no such ability. They technically can have sex with other races, but do not have a child in the traditional sense. Instead, those genes are given but not incorporated to the Wisdom Oak that grows from them when they die, and then the Wisdom oak picks and chooses which ones to give to its own treekin child. It is said by many that a treekin has no soul, but really the truth is that their soul is that of a plant, not a "traditional" humanoid, and few are trained in sensing the souls of plants.

Appearance: They invariably appear to be human, except perhaps with oddly colored hair and eyes. They're loathe to part with the treesilk clothes that they were born with, so they're often seen wearing those, although they may manipulate it with their powers to be fancier in some way.

Powers/abilities: They without exception have power over the element of Earth, and only Earth, but they are much more skilled at it -- particularly the growth and manipulation of plants -- than any other race.

Mortality: Treekin can live indefinitely, but when they do die, another Wisdom Oak grows from their corpse.

I'm sorry, but the site is really hard for me to navigate, and I'm none too fond of Highschool RPGs, anyway.

Once again, sorry. :sigh:

Hmm...well, the site is not up yet, but I'm needing a more creative Admin to help come up with ideas/races/information.

I'm wanting to create an advanced, magical RPG taking place in a mythical land that is going to be pretty complex. It'll probably take awhile to complete, and I'll need a few races, backgrounds, and a history for each of them and how they react to the lands and such. All this work will of course not just be thrown upon you, it would basically be us working together to create the races and their natures/beliefs/etc.

Let me know if your interested, though be warned that the RPG is not created as of yet.
