| Our roleplaying forums are open, meaning that members are able to come in and start their own roleplays. You are free to choose any genre you wish, as well as make it as open or closed as you wish. Creating an RP 1) Each roleplay may have 2 threads, an IC thread in this forum, and an OOC discussion thread in the OOC forum. You may choose to just have an IC thread, and put all relevant information in the first post of that thread, but that will probably only be useful in completely open RPs. 2) You can choose for your RP to be open, to require signups, or to be closed to a few people, but make sure that's clearly marked in the OOC thread and in the title of the RP thread by using [OPEN] or [CLOSED]. You may also have open signups, but specify a certain number of people allowed to sign up. 3) Closed roleplays MUST have an OOC thread with a list of the players allowed to play in that RP. Open RPs with signups are recommended to also keep a list of players. 4) On threads where signups are required, whether closed or open, please place a link in the IC thread back to your OOC thread. 5) You are free to require applications and specify whatever other rules you wish to run your RP. 6) Because we are a large IF site (perhaps more watched than others), please keep RPs PG-13 and below, according to IF TOS. Please use common sense on that matter. 7) Those who start an RP may choose to turn over the RP to another by pm'ing me with the name of the person they wish to lead, as long as they also have that person's permission. The RP will be archived after the new leader creates new threads for it. 8) Threads can be short-term or long-term, as you choose. Closed roleplays that have not been posted to in a month will be archived. Open RPs will be archived after 3 months of no posts. The archive is read-only. The thread owner may pm me to have the threads returned to the main RP forums. 9) Threads over 10 pages may request a new RP thread, and the old one will be archived. You are free to link the threads, if you wish. 10) It would be helpful to specify whether players are allowed multiple characters. Joining an RP 1) Please do not join a closed or signup-required roleplay unless you have been invited or accepted in the OOC thread. Posts made in such will be removed and not counted toward the roleplay. Repeated infractions will merit a site warning. 2) Please follow all posted guidelines written by the creator of the RP. 3) In RPs where you are allowed multiple characters, please note which one you are posting for at the top of each IC post. If you wish to play both at once, please do so in the same post and do not double post. Just note which character is which above each response. |
